Why does someone need a semiautomatic pistol?  Pretty much every one of those in your gallery is a semiauto.   I wonder why they chose that particular type of weapon.

There's really only two types of guns sold to the public, semi automatic, (on pull-one shot) or revolver which is also, one pull, one shot.
 
The most popular is semi-automatic.
 
Fully automatic are not sold to the general public. You can apply for one but its a very lengthy with the ATF, FBI and 6 month process.
