Off to Tempe

When I was pricing LAX-MEX, I got $288 r/t on UA...vs. about $600 (forget the exact fare) on US. I booked UA. Duh!

I had the distinct displeasure of listening to passengers in several airports over the last week complain bitterly about USAirways. I was in uniform and trying very hard to detach myself emotionally from the angry words I overheard.
It will take a lot to regain these customers.

Art, so sorry you lost your pup. They are members of the family.
Thank you for the sacrifices you made by going out there and trying to talk some sense into our bumbling management team.

When I saw someone post, "Fire, Aim, Ready?", I thought, yes, that is it!

I think that means the US has less seats open. You should be glad. I remember flying around after septemer 11 with empty seats day after day and I didn't like that feeling.

While some may laugh at me for thinking this I am optomistic he sitting in the back of an A-330 for 8 hours with his family, feeling cramped with the reduced legroom seating and having to eat a transatlantic meal served in a cardboard box followed later with only a donut for breakfast and perhaps coments from other customers and employess will help him realize US needs to spend more on amenities, especially on International.

This actually may be the best thing that could happen!!!

Art, my condolences on you and your family's loss...

I agree, we need to bring back the original amenities back to the flights. It is so embarrassing what they have done to our service on the a/c.

Logically, you are correct....but I booked this flight (for May) back in January, after monitoring it for a few weeks - and according to the seat maps all 4 legs on US were wide open. When UA dropped their fare from about $450 to $288, I pounced. I continued to follow it for a few more days, just to see if US would match UA's price. Ha!!! The joke was on me for wasting my time.

To be fair the meal in a box on transatlantic and the daves doughnut was NOT Tempe. That was in place well before they took over. The seating, well thats another story. Oh yeah, is the arrival pizza in envoy STILL in a box?

Its in the box! Is it the only thing they can serve at that price point? Some variety might be nice.

While I want Usaiways to be as profitable as possible I hope you elite's take your business elsewhere after drawing a definate line in the sand. I hate to see ya all leave but this management team needs to see the revenue leave overnight. Leave them to squirm and come up with an explanation/solution as to how and why.

OK, Here is a brief update.

I have pressed for response, and have been in communication with them daily. I have let them know in no uncertain terms that this can't be open ended, and that our fellow customers are getting antsy.
We have decided on a reasonable amount of time because many of those involved in decision making are either on the road or on vacation. Some of the hints we have received are encouraging, but as you know, seeing is believing.

The FFOCUS board is working on a timetable for response, and I will post when we decide. Of course each of you must make your own decisions, but we'll suggest a deadline once we agree on it.

Regarding operational issues, etc., we continue to pass along your comments.

Thanks and regards,
Art

Evidently, you didn't read the part of the original post where he/she said they checked the loads, and the outbound and inbound flights had about 10 passengers booked on each. Doesn't sound like a full flight to me--unless it was a DC-3.

Atlanta is burning and they are on vacation. Unbelievable. Did hear a rumor today that there has been some talk that management may be beginning to see that they screwed up....big time. Do ya think??
