Obama will take responsibility for his share of the screw up when every other politician accepts responsibility for their share. Let me know when that happens.

I thought I heard him repeat Harry Truman's line "The Buck Stops Here" during the campaign and early in his tenure as President. lo and behold I was right.

Taking a decidedly different tack from his predecessor in the face of a government failure, President Barack Obama on Thursday took the blame for shortcomings that led to a failed Christmas Day bombing plot, saying, “The buck stops with me.”

Quick, transparent, willing to take the blame — all things Obama has said President George W. Bush was not.

Funny how when you're up to your assets in economic alligators and an election upcoming everyone else is at fault but "Mr The Buck Stops with me" Would you like to revisit the hypocrisy comment or should I just go cling to my guns and religion now?

Like I said, he will accept responsibility for his BS when the others do the same. He is a politician so it's always someone else fault. Why you continue to hold dems to a different standard that you hold your own guys too is beyond me. I do not know if you think we will believe it the more you say it or what. Politicians lie. I know you realize that because I have seen you write it. Why is it different when Obama lies as opposed to Bush? Bush and Congress are responsible for the current mess just as much as anyone else. None of them are going to admit it. All I see is your hatred for everything Obama. I get that. I do not care for him all that much either. He chickened out on health care, Gitmo, Patriot act, Iraq/Afghan pull out and a host of other things. I still believe he was better than the alternative you hammer heads put up.

No I hate income confiscating progressives like Obama who never generated a payroll or earned a significant paycheck that wasn't from the government. Hell at least Hillary was a fee grubbing lawyer. Side note: If Herman Cain gets the Republican nomination and you don't vote for him, wouldn't that make you a racist ? :unsure:

After some of the stuff I've heard and read the Republicans had better nominate Cain. Some of the MSM has already stated that Obama's strategy will be to blame Bush and the so called mess he left behind and anyone who dare criticize will be shouted down as a racist.

Current word is that Obama will run the most negative campaign in Presidential history and essentially play the race card all day everyday. My feeling is he he does do that then he may just win and win big, however IMO both houses of Congress will have Republican Majorities as well as governors. We could end up with 35 to 40 Republican Governors. I think he can save himself, but not the party.

So Bush did not get us into two protracted wars with a cost of over $3 trillion and counting? He had nothing to do with the failing economy that was puppies and rainbows till Jan 21, 2008? The IRS existed before Obama and will continue to exist after he is gone.

I know, I know.... Obama is bad and RP shoots the moon. When are you guys going to get married? OH shoot I forgot, you can't. Republicans do not allow it .... yet.

Post #33, last part of the paragraph. I have said numerous times that I did not care for many of the presidents. Clinton was not in office when I was on this board so he was not a topic of conversation other than republicans blaming him for all the ills that befell Bush for 8 years. His name even came up a few times after Bush was out of office.

Race did not play a part in everyone's decision process. It did have an affect on some peoples decision process. That fact that you seem obsessed with race makes me wonder where you stand. The idea that race does not have anything to do with the birther issue and some of the animosity toward Obama is naive in my opinion.

Producing more windmills and solar panels will not help Americans afford to go out to eat, buy new clothes, go on vacation or commute to work. The President purports to be taking steps to increase oil production. However, are these short-term moves to gear up for his re-election campaign?

Well Duh, of course he's in the say anything, do anything mode in order to get re-elected. That's like saying the Pope is Catholic. As citizens we are at an economic crossroads. Do we want to go down the path that leads to a Socialistic Statest Globalist government and economic system based upon the same? OR do we put on our big girl panties and tell our politicians verbally and at the ballot box that we are for the United States, first, Last and always and to hell with what other countries think, say or do? Do we end the Fed? End printing press money? Balance the budget, replenish the Treasury, become energy independent? It's OUR country, not the UN or any of the other 160+ treaties we've signed. There are 535 elected Congress Critters, a President and VP. There are 280 million citizens, with an estimated 300 million guns. Do the math. All we have to do is vote for either complete Freedom & Liberty or the Tyranny of government run amok. The choice is simple. Which side are you on as there is no middle ground. Anyone who tells you "I'm middle of the road" is either lying or lacks the courage of their convictions as there can be no neutrals, no Switzerland. You're on the side of Freedom and Liberty or you're a thug for the tyranny of government.

I agree with the first part of the quote to increase fuel costs. I think it should be done in conjunction with an increase in CAFE requirements that will off set the cost of fuel. That way the fuel cost goes up but at no or minimal cost to the consumer over the long haul. There is no reason we should not have cars that make in excess of 50mpg.

I do not agree with the electric/hybrid cars at least in their current configuration.
