Good question.

We were doing 100% of our own flying in 2004 until the shotgun wedding in 2005.

My wife could visit family in New Orleans on a direct flight out of Phoenix and not have to connect in CLT prior to the acquisition.

Geaux Tigers, beat Iowa.
Parker pulled it after Katrina. Look within. Now list all the other flying and bases shut down.

Parker huh? He must be a really busy guy.

Who was US Airways’ senior vice president, flight operations at the time?
He hired on as a line pilot with USAir in 1980.

PSA the West by shuting down Vegas?

Shrink the West, grow the East maybe?

And your point please?

america west had a less than thriving business model.  To put it the terms of the west pilots, it was frankly a POS with no future.

History and evidence will prove who the scumbags were, the west.  There will be a large fence around what the west brought to the merger for the next five years plus, you do not want what you brought, you wanted more.

Oh, yeah, I forgot.  The west pilots were the ones who pissed on the merger process, the millions of dollars spent on the process and the arbitration, and the arbitrator's decision in order to get what they wanted.  What scumbags.

A very good synopsis of the poor america west airlines business model and windfall to the west, courtesy of the alpa pilot united airlines pilot
"""""neutrals"""""".       Ironically, the united pilots used the USAirways merger as an example of the unfairness of alpa merger policy to justify their results.

Frankly speaking, besides parker, did American Airlines investors want PHX assets or East coast assets?    (rhetorical question)

Umm...would "you'se" care to note for us any scenario wherein "spartan" lawyers, or any such pathetic ilk, ever successfully negated "terrorism", or, unlike Israel's brilliant and heroic raid into Entebbe, freed any hostages? Sigh!...Kindly consider the perhaps-ever-increasingly/obviously-futile suggestion for "you'se" to actually GROW UP!

"It's self-evident words fail you." It's more evident that words are all "you'se" have to offer up in life. One can only imagine the eventual memorial stone: "Here lies a mighty, self-styled "spartan" and (hopefully), much-loved, village idiot, who brought laughter to many." ;)

As nycbusdriver, rather kindly in my estimation suggested...just go play with "you'se" imaginary little friends and pretend yourself a "hero". The rest of us will necessarily be left to our proper laughter. :)
It's apparent that "you'se" haven't grown out of your foolishness nor your obsession with anything "Spartan".  Do you spend your spare time watching gladiator movies with little boys?

You will always be a former america west pilot, that will not change.  You will have to learn to deal with this scarlet A.

Your group picked the spartan model, does this signify you stand behind each other?

"youse" west guys web site has a spartan symbol on it.  Your thoughts please on your outrageous claim and transferring your spartan worship claim unto others.

While you're defensively fixated on the "spartan" BS (and I certainly can't blame you for attempting even an akwardly defensive posture for that): Wasn't "(hopefully), much-loved, village idiot," worthy of comment? ;)

As rightly noted by Claxon: "youse" west guys web site has a spartan symbol on it. Your thoughts please on your outrageous claim and transferring your spartan worship unto others."...? In any case: Why do you ask, little "Joey"? Have you spent time in a Turkish prison lately?...Or is just the "spartan thing" enough for you? :)

If ever the day comes that "you'se" no longer wish to be correctly perceived as complete fools and "heroic", utter jokes...then stop presenting yourselves as such, and especially in a manner that leaves reasonable observers no other choice in judgement.

You were probably drowning your sorrows to notice the comeback. I was enjoying a sober night of football. Dim bulbs like yourself probably missed the analogy to football and declaring victory too early.
Reminds me of USAPA's Pickleball team.
ATLANTA FINAL: Texas A&M 52, Duke 48: Texas A&M trailed by three touchdowns at halftime Tuesday in the Chic-fil-A Bowl but rallied to take the lead late and intercepted Anthony Boone twice in the fourth quarter of a 52-48 win.
