New F meals

Be thankful it's a change. I am completely amazed at how 12 hours into this, there are posts from a handful of the same old people, doing the same old bashing. You guys need to take a break.

And I am amazed you're still drinking the kool aid.

They have some good ideas out in the Sand Castle, and this is possibly one of them.

They do lack in execution, however, and while it's not a major issue, they still did this a little half baked. By not expanding the meal window to 2 or 2.5 hour flights, they remain non competitive with other major carriers, yet they charge the same if not more.

Why no glass? Or are they still printing the ads on the glasses?

Really UW, you need to lighten up--no one is bashing. In fact I heard from Piney Bob who called me to tell me he had one of the meals this morning and it was actually quite good.

How pathetic. People paying the fares your craphole of an airline is charging and the pax should be thankful?!? I just got off of a DL Comair flight to BOS and the service was better than US FC and that is not an exaggeration. When is the last time a FA on US handed water bottles out to all pax as the boarded. Then, came out with a snack basket better than US's FC basket because of a fuel delay and then came around with more water bottles and then did a full service once in the air. Sorry Art, but I am criticizing them. They SUCK.

This press release showed one thing...your craphole of an airline is indeed a craphole of an airline. You should get out more...there is more than kool-ade out there.

Lets me break all this HOO HA down into this simple point. As stated directly from INFLIGHT, they don't think there will be East Glassware because there is no where to put it! The East metals galley's have been chopped in half. Heck, we are shoving pototo chip bags in the overheads. There is simply no where for glasswear to go. Way to go MORONS!

Um, I am not saying in any way that the A/C reconfig was done properly. But, on the east 319's and 320's, which are now just like the west 319's and 320's, what is the problem? We have room for glassware and always have, since the day the 'buses started showing up in the fleet. I guess I am not understanding what the space issue is.....I know the 321 is a completely different beast and I have no clue what they were thinking since west 757's (with less first class seats) have galley's TWICE the size of the butchered reconfiged east F/C galleys on the 321's .... more genius ideas brought to you by the sand castle I guess.

I flew from LAS to CLT this morning. 3 of us in F today commented very favorably on new meal service. The omelet was good, actually the entire meal was good. We had silverware, etc. As stated above no glassware. If the glassware gets fixed - the service will be pretty good.

I must say as always - no matter what the food is served - the service is always great - I'm lucky I always get a great cabin crew - I can't remember when I have had a poor inflight experience.

I WISH I would have taken pics with my phone on one of my last airbus trips. Both east and west should get pics to see just how DIFFERENT the planes really are. Our east airbus galleys both front AND back are completely different. The galley is the same on our east 319,320 and 321 now. I was on a few west 320's and they are WAY different "including a galley curtain I might add. If they fix the amount of coffee, sugar etc which sometimes is enough for a 747 they'd free up space right there. Putting the rollups back on the setup frees up even more. They COULD add enough glassware to do a rountrip if they wanted to. A standard beverage/meal cart (including the new gray ones) could hold 4 trays of glasses. Two trays of rocks and two trays of wine. This would take up only one side of a cart and only the top portion of the divider. There is more to the reasoning than space. They are @$$es and don't know what they are doing. What an improvement. The "new" service should have never been this limited in the first place. So NO we won't stop complaining and b!tching. UWCACTUS....what do you do out west? Are you a f/a?

Well..i'll give you that, you're correct on one of your points.

This is not rocket science. We are talking about largely domestic airline with a limited international scope (when compared to UA, NW, AA, etc). It should NOT be this freaking hard!!!

they are amateurs, what do you expect? some of these people didn't know a passport wasn't necessary for Hawaii.

Being intelligent or having a degree doesn't make you the right person for the job. We have some very educated people  in Tempe that clearly shouldn't be running an airline. The local Arby's maybe but NOT an airline. HP was a great airline at one point too but before the merger they were a hokey pokey airline and now it's one big hokey pokey airline that is THE laughing stock of the airline industry. I don't care how much money is made it won't last. How amateur and small minded are we (tempe) when we think that this is big? I bet they kept these new enhancements secret so no other airline would try to offer it first. You know all those secret shoppers from other airlines that fly us to see what ideas they could use to their advantage. Maybe they have people that fly US so they know what NOT to do.

This is what kept half of PIT employed. You remember the stuffing of stuff into places because their job was to stuff stuff. It did not matter if this stuff ever saw light of day.

Thats what they do.

Did we complain when the old U did the same thing?

Less we forget the old U, was just as mindless as the present U.

i believe you mean "lest"? good try, though, sanchez...

this xenophobe thinks that the loyalty, determination, and ambition of the pit crew base is something that will never again be replicated in the post-DoUgIe airline industry!! it's sad that the sandcastle's lies contribute to its much, much pre-mature demise.

the finest of the the fine...and sold out by a drunk.

ps-i endorse this message...yet, i am not a pit based employee.
pss-the "old u" recognized the value of loyalty, both customer and employee alike.
