Mechanics vote

Mr. 700, what are these transition talks you speak of? are we (west) being set up, or colluded against by the company. If there has not been a determination by the NMB, then how can iam transition us into that contract, and if so do we get to vote on it. I have been reading on the IBT-CWA agreement and transition, it looks like they(again the west) will not have a vote for or against it. Is that what we can expect from the iam is to have representaiton without a right, or do they want our money only. East is not the only ones here in the new company i wish you( the general you) would stop acting like you are the only ones knowledgable enough to do anything. we know this management and we know how our contract came to be. We would appreciate it if you would stop making blanket statements about our"lack of bringing heavies back" this is our first negotiatins ( mis-spelled just for you)since our first contract and over half of our mechs were fired before the union was in place. How would US be if this happened to eat? but wait you have had thousands fired and furloughed with the IAM, don't remind us of the 2 BK's, still thousands out of work.
Yeah 700. There have been a number of people asking for the information you profess to know. Let's have it. And the facts only, please.

when NMB declares single carrier status there will be a need for a transition agreement agreed to by the company and the two unions of a merging of the two contracts.it will not be a vote issue.
expect more after the new year. ;)

so Mr. 700 is wrong when he says we will be put under the bk contract and that it can not be changed until the amendable date in 2009.

edited to add thanks Dell, most of us Westies want questions answered to the best of current knowledge, if not known than no answer. I appreciate you answering and trying to clear the air and not just spouting the same song and dance. believe it or not we wnat to get along but also relize that sacrifices are going to be made and many have or will be affected and that is not something we are looking forward to.

i wouldn't go that far......a transition agreement crosses the bridge where you have differing/conflicting verbage/rules and transcends it into an agreeable format.
for instance...shift start times....uniform requirements...etc.....would even include a disparity between the two contracts regarding alot of things.....but i wouldn't get into feeling that a huge change is coming.
remember both of the contracts are quite similar but at the same time different.its an agreeable blending to both of the unions and management.

well you're mistaken.....
inspector NDT 4yrs
inspector engines 4 yrs
lead 435/431 2 yrs
engines sheet metal 3 yrs
engine assy.2 yrs
mechanic 473 6 yrs
shop steward 8 years
retired ;)
Goin back aways.. but really Dell you retired?

since their arrival they haven't made any real gains in this area.......why??
glass is here it'll go the other way now. ;)

the only thing that has kept you guys out of the junk yard were the atsb loan and the merger with us airways.....even dougie said without the merger you'd be in the tank....face reality...
TWO LOSER AIRLINES PASSING IN THE NIGHT
Dell AWA sold all of the C-CK tools after they fired 500+ TECHs, THEN we voted the IBT in.. Now we have tools and people to bring it back in house with this merger. Per the contract IF we can do the job it has to be done by us and not outsoursed out.................

Then why is Timco and Aeroman doing them?
WE are not single carrier. Still have two airlines and two UNIONS. IF USAIR (LCC) DOES NOT SHUT DOWN THE HANGERS WERE WE(EAST)DO C-CK THAN WE WILL BRING THAT WORK BACK IN HOUSE AS TEAMSTERS. WITH THE IAM WHO KNOWS WHAT BACK DOOR DEAL THEY HAVE MADE TO SELL YOU OUT EVEN MORE.

Funny Timco and Aeroman does your C-checks and overhaul, and the ibt for almost 10 years has not brought that work back in-house.

The proof is right there about how the ibt can't bring the work back for about the past 10 years.

Funny you seem to know more about our contract than we do. there is no "proof" there. the proof is that in our current negotiashuns we still have open the scope language to bring back work, how can iam bring back anymore work than already allowed before 2009???

we are waiting for your lame answer..

Call me when ibt is succesful in bring the overhaul back in-house from Timco and Aeroman, but the past nine years speaks for itself.

And I have all ready said all I know about the transition negotiations and the IAMNPP.

Keep Trying.
