We can accumulate 1500 hours of sick time.

Also you have the choice of cities to put down for a recall, you don't have to put down a city that you dont want to go too and no one puts down PHL as they are hiring off the streets there.

When you are on furloghee you can bid any job you want and you get it based on seniority.

dell, You thinking no one will come out and vote ?

Have to disagree with you.
my god man....i've never seen enough to turn out for many occasions......
i personally have witnessed very very few to go to an info meeting regarding contractual modifications...
and you think moses will lead them to the promised land???
guy you should drop back and count your blessings...you're in for a huge suprise..... ;)

Is it true that you don't get paid 100% for sick time? Only half for a certain number of days.....or something like that.

Under the final offer CBA.

You get 50% pay for the first five days of each occurance, unless you are hospitalized.

Ouch!! Is there any requirement to go on short term disability? HP does after a certain number of days but that pays 2/3 of your pay.....not half.

Not that I know of.

Yes the sick time deal is ugly. But that is what you get from two bankruptcies in less then two years and no one wanted to take the company on.

700 you are quoted as saying "No one wanted to take the company on"

What you are really saying is the leadership of the IAM did not want to take the company on!!

The members voted to accept it, not the leadership.

I know I voted no on the final offer and yes to strike.

The members did not even vote to strike. I will tell you the district president wanted to take the company on as did the most of the CLT reps and PHL, lets just say PIT was the weak link on the NC.

700, Are you saying that on the FIRST vote of the final offer, The members didn't vote YES to strike ?

There was only ONE vote on the final offer from the company in the latest bankruptcy.

The membership failed to vote 2/3 majority for a strike.
