There was only ONE vote on the final offer from the company in the latest bankruptcy.
The membership failed to vote 2/3 majority for a strike.
700, You know I am talking about the FIRST bankrupcy, The FIRST vote.
You know, The one the membership voted NO to the offer and YES to strike...No need to be so slippery 700, Theres a lot of people on this website that remember how this was handled.
You don't remember ??I don't remember, but I believe they did vote to strike.
Not being slick, I have always talked about this CBA, not the 1st chapter 11 filing.
You are beating a deadhorse.
The reasoning behind the 2nd vote:
The membership sent e-mails and phone calls to Siegel, Siegel said he would hold his own vote the district was against the 2nd vote. The international stepped in and did not want the company to run the vote.
And if the membership was not "confused" why did it ratify the 2nd time?
Beating a Dead Horse ?The reason for the second vote, but you are beating a deadhorse.

You are exactly right on the money. The union wanted the revote and they made the call to have it. That move will ultimately come back to haunt the iam if there is a representation election. It will never be forgiven!! :angry:Beating a Dead Horse ?
Examining the way a union handles a strike vote is not beating a dead horse..
I have never seen a list of e-mails or proof of phone calls to Siegel. [I do not doubt there were some, This membership does have it's share of jellyfish] But that is one LAME excuse to hold another vote on the same offer.
The reason it passed the second time was due to the "I'm Skeert" campaign that was put on by the IAM..[Pathetic].
I guess that I should of picked up the phone and called someone, Maybe there could of been a third vote, [Best 2 out of 3..
Read post 347 ! :huh:Why didn't the members reject it again then?
