Mainline 190 Pay

I think we would all be better off, and this includes passengers, if all brand flying was done under one company.
If it says Delta on the side then they should be Delta pilots. Same goes for US Airways/United etc...
Ask the Colgan families of flight 3407. The passengers bought a ticket on Continental, they should be flying on
Continental. I don't think it's a pipe dream either. Congress just needs to pass a law that has the public's best
interests.

the law they need to pass is if you put your code on it then you are legally liable for the operation. According to the 60 minutes story on the Colgan deal they are not liable for the crash....

so the law should be if US Airways puts their code on it they are liable.

god rest those who died in BUF, one of my best friends daughter was on that flight.

So do you want the 190's in-house or flown by Mesa? They aren't going to pay any more just to keep them in-house.

This is the same argument that arose when the first RJ's went to Comair in the early 90's.

Scope and Compensation ride the same see-saw; always have always will.
And you guys allow ALPA to whipsaw you to express pay

Can someone explain to me why I once read that the pilots of a US aircraft(I believe an RJ) were from Air Wisconsin?

I know I submitted the article somewhere on these boards. It was an aircraft that had some type of emergency.

Signals,

Most airlines outsource much of their flying to other airlines. USairways oursources nearly half (just a guess) of their flying. The other (outsourced) airline may or may not have a USAirways paint job and the pilots and flight attendants and some other employees are not employed by USAirways.

Bob

Yo, the 190's are not 'replacement' aircraft for 737s or ABs......right?
When mgmt. sold the idea of the 190 joining the fleet (sort of), they said it was to open new thin markets like AUS, ABQ, etc.
Ahem....haven't seen CLT-AUS or PHL-AUS on the sched yet for the 190.
According to crew news, they've found their niche on the shuttle (buy we're not replacing Grp2 a/c with the 190, noooooooooo.)
Cheers.

You also make more than any other group and work the least.

Every single work group at US unionized or non-union has given concessions multiple times since 1992.

You wont find any sympathy from other groups saying you gave up more.

Did you lose 46% of your coworkers due to layoff cause of outsourcing.

The more you make the more you give, so that argument wont fly.

What the heck is that supposed to mean?

Is www.airlinepilotpay.com correct with the pay rates at US Airways?
Top out at $55/hour? Don't flight attendants make more than that? And 1 week vacation for the first 7 years? Criminal
Doesn't anyone see a problem here?

Hmmmmmm
What have we here?

We all know Jim is an arrogant SOB. He doesn't even know the difference between plural and possessive.

Your namecalling is uncalled for; apostrophes are commonly used prior to an "s" to indicate plural nouns, especially those containing acronyms and numbers:

The Chicago Manual of Style probably disagrees with Jim, but the New York Times often agrees with Jim.

The OP asked about a $55/hr topout. Since that's the rate for First Officers, it's planely obvious that the question asked was "specifically about FO/s." Had the OP talked about a $99/hr payrate, that would have been a clue that the OP was talking about Captain payrates.

I agree with BoeingBoy: if you read his post as a "dig," then you could use some thicker, less sensitive skin.

Its a good thing you came to BB's defense. He was going down in flames before you hopped in the ring. Wow, close call.

Sorry I'm not perfect like you. I've never claimed to have won any spelling bees (NOTE: plural) and I'd be the first to admit to spelling by what looks right. Somehow, things (NOTE: plural) like "E190s" doesn't look right to me although it's (NOTE: contraction, not plural or possessive) the proper spelling (NOTE: for both plural and a hypothetical 190s version) so I throw in an apostrophe.

In short, don't expect me (NOTE: singular) to change my ways (NOTE: plural) just because they (NOTE: plural) offend you (NOTE: singular in this case but can also be plural).

Jim

Point proven. Goes right along with your asinine "points." You must have been a real joy to fly with.

Gee, I'm glad I brought up this Sully-effect thread! I was trying to point out the pay rate and it became a BB attack. Much like the Sully thread that took a wrong turn when someone noted the 20 year ALPA pin!

Boy, you go off topic of your All terrain threads, huh, US?

Sorry BB.
