Yo, the 190's are not 'replacement' aircraft for 737s or ABs......right?
When mgmt. sold the idea of the 190 joining the fleet (sort of), they said it was to open new thin markets like AUS, ABQ, etc.
Ahem....haven't seen CLT-AUS or PHL-AUS on the sched yet for the 190.
According to crew news, they've found their niche on the shuttle (buy we're not replacing Grp2 a/c with the 190, noooooooooo.)
Cheers.
I am quit certain that Siegal touted the 190s as replacement for the 737s
Damn you and your facts!Would that be the Siegal that didn't order any 190's (although the 170 orders could be converted to 175/190's if desired). I believe he talked of the 170's being replacements for 737's (more mainline flying turned over to Express).
The remaining orders weren't converted to 190's till the merger - that was Lakefield/Parker.

Hmm 56-60k a year for 85 hours a month. Sounds pretty sweet for a flight attendant gig. And no, pilots are highly skilled professionals but flight attendants I believe need only a high school diploma. Lets be honest here....And for all you non-aviator types reading this forum, you probably don't realize why guys are whining about 50 or 60 bucks an hour.
The short answer is: take that nmber and divide it in half - that's how you can compare that wage to the real world hourly worker.
Much of the time, pilots only get paid when the aircraft is in motion, so when you see them walking in the terminal to get to their next flight, or doing a preflight inspection, or sitting in the cockpit waiting for the passengers to sit down, they are not getting paid. The upshot is that it takes 160-170 hours of on duty (not at the hotel on an overnight) time to realize 80-85 hours of flight pay. (and since the FAA only permits pilots to fly 1000 hrs a year...1000/12=85/month - roughly)
So, the F/O's in the 190's, who are highly skilled professionals with great amounts of experience, are not being compensated well.
One of our returned furloughed guys worked as a janitor while he was out and made more money doing that job.

So do you want the 190's in-house or flown by Mesa? They aren't going to pay any more just to keep them in-house.
This is the same argument that arose when the first RJ's went to Comair in the early 90's.
Scope and Compensation ride the same see-saw; always have always will.
Dude, the 39-52 range is for E190 F/O's, not F/A's....Hmm 56-60k a year for 85 hours a month. Sounds pretty sweet for a flight attendant gig. And no, pilots are highly skilled professionals but flight attendants I believe need only a high school diploma. Lets be honest here.
And your last sentence says a lot; furloughed guy worked as a janitor. Does that tell you what other jobs they are qualified for? And if he made more working in sanitation then why did he return to U.S. (which everyone seems to hate btw). Maybe they really didn't make more with benefits and vacation? Or maybe the janitorial work was just a lot harder. Hmm, makes one wonder.
Damn you and your facts!
If you don't have anything to post that proves him wrong then STFU.He is wrong and your nose is up his rear end....so what does that make you!!!

How do you know his feet are dry and calloused? No one ever said Siegal ordered the 190s but BB jumped in there with both of his old
dry calloused feet!!!! Siegal commented that the 190 would be good because
of the commonality with the 170 and would be the replacement for the 737..
so read the whole post before you spout your bile rambling.......just stew in the
fact that regardless what happens here you won't be able to brag to all of your homies
out at the local airport that you are big airline captain.......will suck to be you......
your upgrade is on the way........about 15 years from now......ENJOY!!!

#### slapped?!?! Seriously?
When you post something unsubstantial, which you normally do, I have to find other avenues to distract me and put you in your place.
I've obviously done so, again, as you lashed out at me.
Calm down.
And you'll be on LOA 93 for quite a bit longer - COUNT ON IT!
Suckah.
