You need lessons in treating workers with respect and compassion.

Do you know what they call 50 dead lawyers at the bottom of the Atlantic?

AA-announcing they will layoff more employees.
DL-on the verge of BK
CO-says they are going to have to ask for concessions
UA-will file for 1113 c relief and pension plan termination
NW-get pilot concessions and will need more
AW-will lose $ the rest of the year.

Are the management teams at all these airlines incompetent?

Don't have first hand knowledge to judge those management teams on. Can give you my opion on one not listed in the group. Care to guess which one and what I think? Motto since about 1989....."IF WE CAN'T SELL, LET'S GET OUR MONEY AND SEND 'EM TO HELL!"

Matters not, genius. The AAA IAM group thumped you in arbitration, and will probably win that battle in the long term in front of Mitchell should it come to a S1113c hearing, and if they don't they'll shut 'er down. Sucks to have your hands tied, eh?

As for management acumen, we can launch into this again, but you seem to be the master of the 1-hitter (literally and figurately, I'd imagine) and like to "hit and run" with statements like "management is no more incompetent that the other major airlines." Well, francis, I'm willing to debate that point if you are game.

Sorry, I don't think I need education and compassion lessons from a guy that 1) edited by mod, 2) has been suspended from this board more times than I have fingers, 3) has had to change his ID at least once or twice to get back onto the board, and 4) was singularly responsible for the demise of a viable message board - the old Yahoo board. edited by mod. Those were all names that you have used before and you cannot deny that fact. And the fact that you chose a name that outs yourself is your own damned fault.

You should consider a job at the SPCA - euthanizing puppies and kittens.

You are correct. It wouldn't surprise me if the IAM negotiated a deal to close the PIT facility. Hawk, you should know that the IAM is known for running away, especially their lack of desire to strike a deal before we entered BK.

700UW, Pitbull and others were on this website stating how they wanted to take this to the judge, guess they bit off more than they could handle. Be careful what you wish for as you might get it.

Most of my union brothers in Hangar 5 are tired of the IAM games and lack of information. We want to send a message to negotiate with the company and allow us to vote.

Hey, how about UA when the IAM covered them. What % of heavy did they do before and how much do they do now?

They farmed out 20% of their maintenance pre-concessions which included heavy checks and now checks above a C are farmed out.

But you are comparing apples to oranges as UAL overhauls other airlines planes and engines.

And their management negotiated the changes and did not steal them like US did and UAL's employees ratified the changes.

AA overhauls the C-17 for the military. DL made over $300 million in profits last year by doing third party maintenance.

Maintenance is the one of the only parts of the company that can produce a profit without any passengers.

Look at Luthansa Techlink, British Airways Engineering and Singapore Airlines.

Yeah that is funny I guess... ;)

Say, how many are IAM represetned Mechanics at the carriers you mentioned above...?

What union does DL have to deal with in regards to MNX...?

IMO the point of outsourcing is not to just send the work out, but to make sure it can be done for nearly the same costs in house (or it will then be sent off the property).
