Militancy doesn't apply to APPOINTEES! That is why they get APPOINTED in the first place.Overspeed said:Didn't Gless get crap for ribbon cutting at JFK with Arpey? I guess ribbon cutting photo ops is a JFK thing. Where's that NY militancy?
I guess this is just a coincidence that DL announces this AFTER we get our industry average adjustment.Buck said:Delta boosting employee pay, benefits
www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news/2015/09/16/delta-boosting-employee-pay-benefits.html
Delta Air Lines Inc. (NYSE: DAL) reported Wednesday it will boost most employees’ base pay by 14.5 percent and is increasing its 401(k) dollar-for-dollar match from 5 to 6 percent. The Atlanta-based airline reported the base pay rates will increase for all eligible merit, ground and flight attendant employees around the world on Dec. 1. When combined with the April increases, pay rates for most employees will be up 18 percent or more in 2015, providing record pay raises in a year of record profits. Additionally, its new profit sharing formula for payouts in 2017 and after shares 10 percent of profits until the airline matches its prior-year profitability and then pays 20 percent of profits, with no limit. On Jan. 1, Delta will start to match employees’ 401(k) contributions up to 6 percent of pay with automatic and matching contributions from the airline, which together can equal up to 8 percent of employee earnings, the total will add up to 14 percent of an employee’s earnings. In February, Delta reported its employees would receive profit sharing as part of the company’s $1.1 billion total payout for 2014 – the largest payment in the company’s history. The airline paid more than $450 million to its Georgia-based employees. Total individual payouts equaled more than 16 percent of employees’ eligible 2014 earnings, which equates to an average of nearly two months’ salary. In October 2014, Delta paid a 5 percent advance on profit sharing to employees, it said. Delta employees earned more than $84 million in 2014 through the program. The company has paid out $2.9 billion to employees during the past five years. Delta employs nearly 80,000 worldwide and operates a mainline fleet of more than 700 aircraft.
In the end no matter what happens between now and I guess ratification of our next contract, we are to receive Delta plus 7%.MetalMover said:I guess this is just a coincidence that DL announces this AFTER we get our industry average adjustment.
This raises our bar no doubt. But keep in mind they are also averaging more than two month salary as profit sharing or bonus or whatever they call it.Buck said:In the end no matter what happens between now and I guess ratification of our next contract, we are to receive Delta plus 7%.
I believe our union representatives traded our Profit Sharing for .50 cents an hour?MetalMover said:This raises our bar no doubt. But keep in mind they are also averaging more than two month salary as profit sharing or bonus or whatever they call it.

Our profit sharing was based on a paltry calculation. DL employees average two months salary.Buck said:I believe our union representatives traded our Profit Sharing for .50 cents an hour?

Unless the union feels it needs to hold this Profit Sharing for proper distributionOverspeed said:
I believe the PS plan that was in place and given up was 15% of pre-tax earnings. If AA makes $8B that would be $1.2B in the fund for distribution. If split between 85,000 people that would be ~$14K per employee.
