Long letter...

Since the Arbitration Board released the merged seniority list on Friday, May 4, 2007, I have received numerous calls and e‐mails from US Airways and America West pilots. I want you to know that I have read or listened to many of them, and while I might not be able to answer each one personally, or return every call, I have heard you. It’s also critical for you to understand that your national union cannot, did not, has not, and will not do anything other than follow the Merger Policy.

Since I became president, you have heard my call to unify all ALPA members. I firmly believe that if one ALPA pilot has a problem, we all have a problem. Well, today there are a lot of pilots out there who do have a problem, and we need to listen to each other. We must do so if we are to move forward and work together in good faith to create a unified, single pilot group capable of reaching a new agreement. At this critical time, if pilots decide to work at cross purposes, then we won’t be in a position to accomplish our mutual goals.

Sounds like even though there is no pre-judgement, he is reaffirming that ALPA merger policy rules in these instances. I don't think the East MEC will have any success convincing anyone that the merger policy was violated. Especially after reading the full award, examining the facts and hearing the rebuttal of the West MEC.

I am pleased to see that the Executive council will hear from BOTH sides so as to avoid the possibility of being swayed by a one-sided appeal.

This is basically an executive council formality. They have to hear the complaint by the east and give it due consideration, because these are the guidelines and contrary to what the eastie insurgents are compaining of, ALPA follows policy. All of us on planet earth know it will be thrown out, (and when this happens expect another round of Eastie insurgents screaming about burning down houses and trashing performance, etc.) and I look forward to another week of entertainment on the USAviation web board.

LOL... YEP!

Sad but true...

It'll be DeJaVu all over again. I hope they eventually get tire of it and start acting like professionals, and maybe get together w/ the West and fight for a NICE and FAIR contract!
