I posted on here before all this merger stuff with Delta/NW and I said, United and US AIWAYS was gonig to merge. This I said on April 7th I believe. This information was brought to me along with the merger announcement date of the 3rd week of May but no later than June 1. I still believe that is true so I don't think any announcement this Friday will happen. My understanding is that Parker will be the CEO, don't know where headquarters will be but I presume Elk grove Village.

Does anyone think that UA may be split up between US and CO. US taking ORD,SFO and LAX and CO taking IAD and DEN? Going to be an interesting few weeks.
Do you think it could be earlier due to UA's Q1 results or due to the leaking of info? Any idea where to find all the union info? Mama

I don't understand why United would be split up considering everyone touts how Usairways wouldn't be split up. Though a mess in their own way I think United just as Usairways is worth more to both airlines WHOLE rather than carved. Just saying that many consider the possibilities of breaking United apart but defend the thoughts of Usairways being split east and west.

I agree 100%; the only splitting up that will/would occur would be if the DOJ forces UA/US to give up a portion of its DC presence.
Now if these posters are referring to "right-sizing," yes, I'm sure there'll be a fair of that...most notably out west IMO

I know Tim is pretty sure about the announcement being made in May and as I posted I keep hearing Friday, Although, I really dont know ANYTHING I just saw on FlyerTalk someone mentioned Barrons reporting that UA said it couldn't be sure it wouldn't default on credit obligations. Could this push up an announcement? I really just want this over so we can move on. Mama

I know back in the day they used Apollo(sp), I think they still use some version of it but not too sure anymore. Weren't they supposed to up to the same system as the STAR carriers (Amadeus I think)?
