interior means cabin

Guess you never heard of getting a new career or job before?

selling out utility jobs to keep mechanic jobs is in my estimation "sticking it to the guys on the bottom" How does this confuse you, Geez? I do believe utility pays dues too. Seems like everyone is willing sell each other out to save their own necks.
I never mentioned anything about selling anyone out. My point was merely that I would like to see utility and stock clerks under a different contract, rather than the same contract as the Mechanics!

Class and Craft won't happen.

It just might if the IAM didn't fight so hard to keep it the way it is now  !! And they do so each time an effort is made to change it. The last petition to the NMB was by the AMFA prior to their election at UAL.

I believe it was Ken Theide who said a baggage handler's job is directly related to that of a mechanic <_< . Look it up on the NMB site for yourself.

Hey, I heard that there was going to be an overnight cruise up the Yadkin River to Winston-Salem, with ports of call in Davie, Davidson, and Guilford counties. Catering by Krispy Kreme, Pig Pickins and R.J. Reynolds.

I forgot about him. Isn't Lavman the one that use to make posts and then answer them agreeing with what he posted under another name?

You dont think so?????

#1, Should have happened a long time ago!!!
#2 The rumblings i'm hearing are.........mechs know whats coming, sure hope utility is prepared for what is coming. Mechs are going to be downsized, bigtime..Utility is, or should I say, should be, downsized to where it belongs...As much as i hate to agree with our old buddy, "DAVE", he was correct when he said that particular position should not be a career choice. Should be mainly a part time job for young kids working through college, or looking for extra cash. Don't misunderstand 700, this is NOT gloating, dont want to see anyone go by the wayside...I just feel this is reality. It was bound to happen sooner, or later.

And please, don't post your typical response about class envy, mechs think they are better than everyone else, living wage, selling the other group out, BLAH...BLAH....BLAH!! This is the reality of the industry, it will NEVER go back to pre 9/11 days........get used to it

if a cabin cleaner wishes to make mechanics wages, then he should get off his lazy ass and get his tickets...... :D end of story!

NeedForSpeedNFS,

Do tell how they are going to get everyone to vote for this?

The Lake Norman day cruise is true.

However, it was Lakefield, Glass and Chiames that went on it along with certain select employees by invite only. The cruise was sponsored by none other than a select group of Lakefield worshipers.

No envy, never thought I was better, far from it actually.

Here some more reality Mr Attitude. Without the mechs onboard your sorry ### will be gone as well. Get used to that.....

Actually, the productivity gains the company seeks will create double digit layoffs. If the company wins the outsource, along with outsourcing whatever else they can from the mechanic and related end....it will cost major, major furloughs for IAM.

I suspect CWA will experience major layoffs in the next year with airport automation and internet expansion.

If the company increases the flying hours for flight crews as suspected, F/as will experience substantial layoffs , along with the pilots.

At least those sound like the "right" kinds of layoffs. What I mean is that this layoff plan sounds like it's designed to reduce the CASM, rather than simply reducing the number of dollars in expenditures.

It's the sort of layoff that should have happened the first time, so that the subsequent concessions and layoffs wouldn't have been necessary.
