While I don't want to witness any of my co-workers losing their jobs, this is a good idea if it will save the company money. Sorry Utility, looks as if your days are numbered.
Yea, their new utility will be AFA members.

Kiss my...

Stores at AA wont even talk to intercompany transfers unless they have two years of college or five years experience in computerized inventory management. Not quite pulling mufflers off the rack at NAPA now is it?
Yeah, it looks like a pretty complex occupation to me??? ........Not!!!

And this is different from ALPA selling out their juniors
Ah, the last time I checked, ALPA's juniors were also pilots???

Never seen the mechs return any of utilities dues money!
I didn't realize that mechanics handled the dues money, but if I were in charge of the union, I would gladly return the stock clerk/utility dues money and let them negotiate their own contract! I'd be curious to see how much their pay would be then! :(

That old familiar tune ...'Stick it to the guy on the bottom'
How is this "sticking it to the guy on the bottom? Stock clerks and cleaners are in a different job classification!

.....selling out utility jobs to keep mechanic jobs is in my estimation "sticking it to the guys on the bottom" How does this confuse you, Geez? I do believe utility pays dues too. Seems like everyone is willing sell each other out to save their own necks. I expect that type of prostitution mentality from management and stock holders but not the rank and file.

Anybody here think fleet, different contract and all, isn't going to be cannon fodder for the mechs?

The ramp contract has nothing to do with the mechanic and related, both are in differant districts and represented by differant general chairs.

guys while i hate to see people lose their jobs. we gotta come down to reality here. the lcc's have no cleaners . the f/a's ,agents, and pilots tidy up the a/c . yes they do have people who clean the trash carts and lavs but they are contracted out. it saves a ton of cash. i have had situations where our flt has been delayed because we had no cleaners onboard the a/c . it was not their shift. all i am saying is that business wise ,its not cost effective to have cleaners when you could have the f/a's tidy up the a/c and have less turn times and get out on time.
we hate hearing the truth only when it affects us in a negative way but its reality.
you will see other airlines in the future doing the same . we can blame who ever we want but the fact is that the lcc'rs have been running their ops this way for a while and it seems to work. i am not begrudging anyones job but when it comes down to it, it doesen't make sense to have cleaners . it costs the company too much . turning this company around is gonna require a whole lot of sacrifice. frankly i don't see it being done. i think the company hopes the contracts are voted down so that they can go into bkrpcy and f us all.
and the first to be f'd are the cleaners. its sad that they have to use these tactics but look who we are dealing with. good luck to everyone. i am so over it . <_<

You will?

Wait. First I was Bruce Ashby. Then I was Mister Lawyer. Now, I'm somebody you'll see me "across the table." And you said you KNOW "who you are."

Please stick to one story.
