If you are going to criticize the way we talk, at least get it right.
Dijeetyet would be a more proper pronunciation and spelling. :p

Company told the three line mechanics tell your union leadership to open up the contract, we will save the mechanic jobs and get rid of utility.

I'm sorry, but utility personnel and the stock clerks have been riding on the coatails of the Mechanics for way too long! I have nothing against any of them personally, but their wages are too much for their job and responsibility!

I spent thousands of dollars in money, and time to get my license, and everything I sign off, I am responsible for! Not to mention the years I spent in BS jobs at fixed base operations to get the experience I needed to do my job! A cleaner is only responsible for keeping a clean airplane or facility, and a stock clerk is only responsible for getting you the right part! No experience or education required!

Every one of these people have the opportunity to get an education and better themselves, but it's ridiculous when a Lead Stock Clerk only makes a few dollars less than a Mechanic!!!

Where else could these people go and do the same thing for the money they make! The last time I checked, Napa is paying about $8.00 an hour to hand you a part. Janitors are making less than that!!! Unskilled labor pay has been a big problem in the airline industry for way too long!!! ;)

Just my opinion! FWIW!

100% CORRECT!

They could pay stores $5.00 an hour, that doesn't mean there is going to be more money to dole out to maintenance come contract time.Besides, if this was such a big deal why wasnt it addressed in the last "Real" contract?

Oh, thats right...everyone was making decent money.

You get what you negotiate, thats the name of the game.

One other thing, Stores at AA wont even talk to intercompany transfers unless they have two years of college or five years experience in computerized inventory management. Not quite pulling mufflers off the rack at NAPA now is it?

My all time fave was the cleaner in EWR who insisted to me that he should be making as much as a first officer. No offense against the profession, but it is unskilled labor and no market can support such wages.

i love this,it doesn't get any better than this.....
do we have any idea who our UNION BROTHERS WERE?
why did they go??
are they tooting their horns pro-brucey now??
remember what mister spock said......
THE NEEDS OF THE MANY OUTWEIGH THE NEEDS OF THE FEW
live long and prosper...........

A cruise of Lake Norman, wowee man! Maybe Carnival Cruise Line should take a closer look at this exotic port of call. I can hear it now in Charlotte....Didja jeet yet? Hooooweeee let's git some free vittles on the SS Hooterville. Ship of fools, plane of idiots.
Have you ever BEEN to Lake Norman? If you HAVE, you would understand how out of line and ignorant your remarks are. The land alone for a modest home on Lake Norman is probably worth more than you will ever see in a lifetime.

And before you start crackin on people's accent, there are plenty to tease, from PIT to BOS to New York. If you do come to Lake Norman, you will probably hear more accents from places outside of the south than in.

You know what Hippie?? You're right. It's terrible in CLT. It's not a place you would ever want to visit let alone relocate to. Trust me....don't come. Keep yourself on the Leftist coast and don't come here to edumacate us heathens to the correct ways of your world. <_<

And this is different from ALPA selling out their juniors, as well as other work groups, how?

Never seen the mechs return any of utilities dues money!

And best of all, assume all utes and clerks vanish. Would that 'save' the company?

Note to Palace: Divide and conqueor is alive and well :(

You know I am SHOCKED that the pilots didn't choose the Gateway Clipper Fleet in the 'Burgh. The "Good Ship Lollypop" would have been appropriate as in SUCKERS! FlyingHippie you ought to know better than to tease those Southern folk. Lake Norman is okay if you like lakes there are prettier lakes by Knoxville if you ask me.
