Bob why do transformers blow like they do in storms?. Do they reset themselves?
On the residential grid, power is brought in from the substation reduced from 500k to around 5k, transformers are placed along further reducing it to 110 single phase, if water or a unlucky squirrel, or even the wind were to cross phase, it trips a fuse and must be replaced manually. In commercial power, mainly supplying other substations, if shorted the system will shut down for a period of time, then send test voltage to see if a short dose exist, if not power is restored, if a short exists the system shuts down and power is drawn from a different part if the grid bypassing the grid that has the short.

Thanks Bob after, Sandy I couldn't see them replacing all those transformers. It looked like 4th of July where I lived during Sandy. On my block A tree snapped a telephone pole workers up from Kentucky put up a new pole chainsawed the old pole leaving the wires attached and strapped it to the new pole with a cable and there it sits today

I survived hurricane Andrew in 92, incredible destruction.

The latest flight threshold for LAA has come out.

Currently, the number of annual departures needed to keep a station open is 5475.

SAT = 4341
SJU = 4361
TPA = 5138
ATL = 5274
STL = 5532

These stations are being protected today by an LOA that holds to 2555 annual departures until September 12, 2018.

What are the implications of STL closing and Kasher/TWA 100%? The TW people should go back to the IAM side of the A$$.

LUS IAM has MCI have to wonder there are people who would like to return there assuming the station survives post JCBA.

That's just for the LAA flights correct?

The IAM side doesn't have anything different to offer them. Their seniority is with the airline, not the union.

The implication for the TWA folks in STL would be the same as every other Member.

Let the IAM AGCs deal with them and the expense of their grievances and the burden TW brought to AA. Why is it this time the IAM gets to stay and collect dues? Last time they washed their hands and walked away after the mess of TWA was imposed upon nAAtives.

The IAM took their case to the arbitration and lost because the language in the TWU CBA was stronger and better protected the TWU members under those circumstances.

Everyone forgets the circumstances of the TWA merger, but it was not a bad deal at the time it was put together. Circumstances in the industry and 9/11 made the deal turn out bad.
