The majority are probably South Florida based. Not much of an incentive that I can think of to be away from your homes and families for an event like this. Granted they'd be safer getting the hell out of dodge but, sorry.

In the company's eyes your family is second to your employment and obligations with them. When you treat employees as a liability to corporate profits, rather than an asset, what can be expected? Certainly not loyalty. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

Weez is this going to be one of those Forrest Gump lieutenant Dan kind of spiritual experience for you? Or are you going to chit your pants and lay in the fetal position down your basement like I did when Sandy hit Long Island. To think when I was younger I actually enjoyed a hurricane party. but after a big Oak fell on my house I'm deathly afraid. Being without electric and waiting months for repairs really sucks and I was lucky there are still people going through hell

I don't think most structures in Florida have basements. Maybe parking garages hope so for his sake. Come to think of it though, that is probably not the best place to be if it floods. That is judging from Harvey.

we got 500 lbs of chocks here earlier today allegedly planes are coming here or were we have heard those crews stories as well

I survived a heart attack in June and I'll survive Irma on the chin too Al. Probably be scared chitless though I'm sure.

True I live about 5 miles from any bays or inlets so flooding wasn't a problem for me others who live closer to the water would open their basement doors and water would be to the top step

You guys stay, safe, prayers I don't crap in your backyard and then ask how do you feel!

Yes it does.

You know I heard that somewhere before. :)

You have heard it before I'm sure. Do you think the membership has figured it out yet? Let's hope. Until then... the preaching to the choir on this forum will continue. Offer a little bump in pay, a week extra of vacation, a holiday or two and a signing bonus and we're good to go right? The company's strategy on increasing PT, outsourcing and passing along higher insurance costs to the membership. Pesky details too often ignored. You have heard it before and will hear it again. Until the general membership hears it and understands it.

Gotta go board up some windows and prepare for the hurricane. Please keep Florida members, residents and their families in your thoughts and prayers. Adapt. Improvise. Overcome!

orgac best of luck to you and ur family and to everyone who lives and works in Florida with Irma coming Prayers all make it thru safely

Name one employer that said "we put the welfare of our employees ahead of profits"
