JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA Fleet

Albert, not sure if that's a loaded question or not. But I'm 100% behind no outsourcing, none. I don't care if the jobs are absorbed in other work area's, which I don't believe would be permanent, I don't want one job that either the IAM or TWU currently do to be taken away. So the simple answer to your question is yes, I will wait.
Now, the comment you replied to was more related to the lack of info on why we cannot be told what they are after, do you not have any issue with that, even if it's yours. Neither you or I will be out of a job regardless, I just want the Association to stop letting AA drive the bus and give me a few more details...
What the company put out was the same thing as ripping the bandaid slowly off versus one big jerking motion. Think of all the things the the company didn't include in that letter,
Scope
Part-time
Recall

I will say this though, reading through Jetnet comments today in regards to the letter put out by AA, I was surprised we have a contributor to these forums who has no problem with outsourcing...tsk-tsk
That would be me, and yes, I do get on jetnet almost all the time when coments need to be made.

Oh, I know Bob, and I thought about those as well. But someone mentioned specifically that more jobs were wanted and I wanted them to relay those to the members, or explain at least why they can't.

Any rumors on the the big surprise for ORD this coming weekend?

Never took the NYC Sanitation test and didn't have a friend named Vinnie Boombots either.

Besides maybe you don't know how hard those jobs are to get. Like being struck by lightning in a cloudless sky,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,twice.

Seeing the types of people the MBTA hires, clearly not very hard. Then again I think it's some lottery they use to screen the people.

In all seriousness what's funny is that for years Bob Owens was saying there was a flight of AMTs going to the MTA and LIRR, leaving 25-30+ years at AA and starting out at MTA making more, working fewer hours, receiving better health care, and more holidays.

Yeah!! the TWU hired Al Gore to come and protest that working A/C overseas is adding an additional 10 trillion tons of pollution to the atmosphere..
That will fix the scope. This was leaked from the NC.

Rumor on the ramp is that the Cubs player rep is going to join us. I doubt it but something is planned for sure, not sure what.

with aa paying the cubs big money for sponsorship....i would be shocked if that is true. jake arrieta is the cubs' rep, i believe, and if aa gets wind of this...they will call the cubs and the cubs will talk to arrieta and ask him not to get involved.

The secret is so secret that nobody knows other than the inner circle. I hope it's worth it.

Call and find out!

I agree. Everyone should call to get the info of what's up. Whatever you guys do, don't put it out here what the plan is. Wait until after it happens to post what all is planned. I just have one question, what was the original date for the picketing in Chicago? At least I know what date to look around at for what's going on. Good luck to you guys. Hope it turns out well for ya.

I'm still not understanding why you will not divulge what other jobs were on the table that AA did not mention. I might not be part of the catering crew and I might not deice, but what you will not let the members know might be my job.It makes no sense to stay silent. The company is the only one that can give details??

AANOTOK,

Their comprehensive proposal used a term in the LUS CBA "when and where directed" for certain job functions we currently do in some cities and not in others. If I recall accurately, lavs and water were 2 job functions on that list but believe there were a few more. To be clear, I don't recall all of the functions they listed. If you want to read the "when and where directed" in the LUS CBA, Article 4. A. 3., 4. and 5. Article 3. B. 1. (b) protects some of the "when and where directed" work in certain cities.

Article 4.A.5: When and where so directed: work associated with US Airways Express aircraft and other non-company aircraft, the operation of jetways, performing catering security checks, and any other station work.
