Exactly what I have been saying from the get go. NO info to the membership until, BAM!!! Here's the T/A guys, best we could do, you better vote for it or else, then BAM!! the layoffs start after the contract. Why hide all the info Tim? That is complete bull shite and YOU know it!!! What a complete cluster fuk over here at AA and asso land. My God you expect the membership to support the nego cmte when they are held in the dark until T/A day? Really? NOT gonna happen. Good luck with that one buddy. This will only start yet another card drive at AA in my opinion, but, we will see. You know what? Yea we have been at it for 5 years now here at SWA, but you DO NOT see the membership in such an uproar over here as we are very well informed on what is going on. We know the hang-ups and exactly why. Your membership does NOT. That my friend is why we wait patiently over here and your members will be in chaos because of the unknown.
I have made this call from day one guys, and Tim Nelson just confirmed it with, "You can basically forget about any information until there is a TA."

I REST MY CASE...
I still think a contract is going to be had after health care re-enrollment. Then the contract will toss the LUS health care from current form. The company will nab our health care and nab part time. Prolly won't be any new stations either. But $32, a signing bonus and a buyout will pass it. All in all, I'm sure LAA will be ecstatic. I doubt our IAM will do much for us. Maybe cost neutral by tossing in an extra week of vacation and a few holidays that we buy with increased health care cost. Not sure why that would take 3 years to negotiate a cost neutral contract. At best, we may get a tweak more than cost neutral with these bozos. Thankfully, we are working for a company that makes billions per quarter. If it only had about $500 million our bozos would cough up concessions.

Peaterson needs to let us know what’s going on and why were behind . This is the most bs crap I have seen. It’s time for a AMFA drive for maintenance At least we will be the main group and can have observers and they let you know what’s happening I’m so tired of not knowing what’s going on. We are the due paying members we deserve to know what is going on .

Let's get a jcba first. Then we can focus on representation. One fight at a time.

I am not debating the accuracy of the statement only saying it should be validated before being presented as fact.

Smh, yeah, it's a FACT. I watch them every night here at DFW/DWH. Why would you question it, and in the very same breath qualify it with "4 years ago"? Do you dislike the Weez that much? Just couldn't resist taking a jab?

Grow up? That's funny coming from you LiLiLuLuLo. I've agreed with many of your posts in the past. However you have gone off the cliff in the last 6 months or so. You are obviously a very bitter person over losing your job. Move on.
What about me saying information should be validated offends you so much?

Again people bumping in from DFW were very surprised we were doing overnight cleaning and security checks. They thought it had been outsourced throughout the system.

Is it out of the realm of possibility that there may be another station that still does overnight cleaning or security checks?

I am not saying there is. What I am saying is employees better make damn sure there is not before putting out a flier making that claim.

Again what about that offends you so much?

To your second point. What a novel idea. I'm sure that would get their attention along with their wrath. Could lead to termination investigations though.
To your first point. We damn well better verify the accuracy of the statement. Fleet is responsible for overnight (below wing) security checks in my station. Nothing worse than distributing misleading or false information.
That is all I am trying to say.

Apparently that offends people.

Maybe you don't trust your Union but I trust mine. The information is accurate.
Right because the TWU would never push a false narrative. They have always been honest and forthcoming. They have no scandals in their history. They are beyond reproach.

Maybe you forgot about Sam Cirri and Debbie Tiller cutting a deal to push a concessionary contract. I have not. I also have not forgotten how Tiller attempted to bypass senior people for a job opening at TULE.

You are damn right I don't trust the TWU.

By the way did you vote for the Association?

Didn't think so.

Says the washed out electrician.

From the mouth of the 2 year apprentice.
I like my version better.

Can you explain to me how a Journeyman Electrician takes a job at American Airlines and does not go into electrical maintenance.

Did the higher pay and lower work load scare you off?

At least they get great updates the members know what is going on I’m sick of the lack of communication from the association
What additional information do you want? I think the information they put out is a bit scrambled and recycled. We went from the company putting out a comprehensive proposal to supposedly responding to that proposal but then we cancelled a meeting because we didn't have our shiat together and supposedly needed more time. To, this week we worked out language issues. What does that mean? What language? To, let's wait until October and then we may present our counter proposal and wrap things up by November. Really? Although I do think the company wants a JCBA and that the re-enrollment is the wait due to upcoming political elections. I mean, no way in hell was the IAM officers going to sell out our medical after being C Blocked with a new election. Waiting on re enrollment pinches then another year of the LUS health care then they take their chances on the LUS health concessions they want to cough up for management.

Now, one thing everyone can prolly agree with is that the negotiation narrative changes a lot insomuch that it's hard to figure out exactly what is going on. One week they claim the company is stonewalling, the next week they are sucking on the company and thrilled with negotiation pace. Seems like Jeck and Hyde stuff.

So who knows. But if we are waiting on maintenance, and not just using it as an excuse again, then I support that. Is that the way it will end up, I hope so. It seemed to work out in 2014. Prior, when fleet service went first, it became the sacrificial lamb then MX went after and got much better deals. Let's stay on their coattails and not jump out front. If that delays things then what's the fuss? If that means the negotiation team has to toss out more fairy tale updates then fine.

Oh, one last thing, I heard all work will be a snapshot. No new stations. But all remaining work will be kept other than some grandfathering clauses for small stations. Good to hear we are keeping catering.

If what P.REZ says holds true to form and we can jump on the company with 30,000 on the same page in October, there is no way in heck we will have a new contract wrapped up before 2018. With the big Holidays coming up and the time consuming process it takes just to get a T/A out to the members, mid 2018 at best. IMO

So you're only interested in them because they have good writers in their group? 5 years of great updates, woo hoo. 🙂

But yes the Association updates are terrible I agree.

But why rid of the LUS healthcare? That will be a concessions to the LUS guys. Why in the world wouldn't the NC try to get the LAA guys up to the LUS healthcare? Myself not knowing the entirely of the LUS healthcare, I do believe it would be industry leading (other than UPS pays nothing). And why are some so OK with ditching the LUS healthcare as shown in their postings including yours?

Let's get get a jcba first. Then we can focus on representation. One fight at a time.
I actually agree with you. Pretty sure this JCBA will trigger another drive, but I do agree with how far in you guys are to proceed with new contract then do the new union drive. That's what we had to do when we fired the teamsters, we waited until after the contract was done.

I agree. And it's the same with us. Our Mediator says she cannot meet until Nov., then the holidays, then the new year, so we still won't have anything until 2018 either. Good luck...

swamt personally I would rather keep LUS health but Ive got a gut feeling it will go away in the new JCBA

Keep in mind all of our updates in the last year and a half. The TA's we've got to date, around 30, have enhanced most of the articles. We have addressed all the areas that we were behind the industry. When all is said and done, our plan has been and continues to be industry leading. Does that mean every single item, no! That means, overall, industry leading. I get the frustrations, many believed DP when he said everything would be great, however, they are not giving away the farm, they are doing what corporate America does, fight. We are fighting too. When the JCBA comes out, you'll be the judge with your vote! Our main concerns continue to be Health Insurance, retirement benefits, compensation and scope.
