They call them Weekend Warriors. The premise being let PT work weekends so there are more weekends off for FT. That's why Sat Sun or a combination that includes those days is the only shifts they can work.

And yes it does cut down on FT heads. But all PT cuts down on FT heads doesn't it.
I actually like the idea of that.

I can see a lot of perks all around with the use of "weekend warriors".

The only question is the cost of benefits for the company.

I'd love to read your opinion on that actually? Would you be against Weekend Warriors and 4/10 shifts here in MIA given the option?
If I were in that given situation I would jump on that in a second. Part time or full time. Seems a good all around deal for everyone.

right there is everything that is wrong with us. I don't know if 10 hr shifts restricts employment, but to even worry about it cutting into c/s's and ot, even after getting these substantial raises, just strikes me as odd. throw in, the jobs that have been outsourced, and will continued to be outsourced, thanks to leaders like Trumka always fighting the wrong fight. And maybe I'm out the loop, I've always been of idea most junior people who were stuck on nights for 10 years starting out, wanted more weekends off, and flexible start times so they could be home with family more. And who can find weekends off consistently most of the time, unless you have a premiere shift.
Airlines have position themselves to be profitable for many years to come. Why would you think that more jobs would be outsourced???

You are showing to be one who would accept anything the company gives you to keep the process going, so you can have a quick resolution?
canned response. and for the last 15 years i've feared more what the union has accepted in our contracts and has told us to vote yes on.

You mean the last 15 years since 09/11/2001, The Global economic collapse, Oil prices through the roof, and all those Airline Bankruptcies?

You mean that last 15 years bro?

Update

Fleet is ready to enter the final stage of negotiations and are awaiting MX to catch up. When MX catches up, we will use 30,000 members to fight for the best contract in the industry.

sounds great! and what do you consider "good progress?" also did you and cb already propose to renegotiate the cs policy or is that something you'll propose in the "final stage?"
