JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA Fleet

I actually wouldn't have a problem if "rocking chair money" was replaced with you actually had to work the hours to get paid. I would have a HUGE problem if the TWU gave in agreeing to allowing all part timers to be held (either forced or offered) before full timers were proffered OT.

Consider this. When the Company is penalized by paying a bypass it ensures they pay more attention in getting to keep the process effecient to allow the equalization to dictate OT order.

If we take that away, could it make the Company lazy with trying to adhere with an equalization system.

If they change that, it would be a concession for the LAA side.

Agree completely with your second point with having PTers included with FTers on an OT sign up.

What are the true priorities of the company in negotiations? Your opinion is as good as others.

Basically, to match the CBA's of other legacy airlines in order to keep their labor expenses within reach of their competitors.

Couldn't care less if you disagree with the court of popular opinion. I said all along, LUS will enroll for next years healthcare right beside us, and it will be the same for everyone. I also said LUS would suffer on scope, you and Timmy can pound on the table as much as you want, but at the end of the day this will come to pass, despite your quezzyness.

P.S. about 6 months ago, someone I know and trust mentioned to me that JetNet told all LUS employees that 2017 would be the last year they would get health insurance at a discount. I tried to look for this, but I have no reason to not believe what I was told.

It's this type of mentality that makes me believe that you and some others are happy and willing to keep the status quo, instead of looking for something better. I'm pretty sure that it somewhat amuses you that the LUS group will have to give up something in a new JCBA as well. I woulda thought that you would be looking for better from a company that's making record profits. Glad that you're not sitting at the table for us Bob, as you seem to fold pretty easy. If your not in management, you should be with that "scew those guys" attitude...

Agreed. The airlines in this industry have been playing leap frog, concerning industry contracts, for years. Industry leading is temporary at best. Would you agree?

To your last sentence of your first point, obviously if your convinced that AA is after the medical of LUS and will eventually get it, that is a helluva concession for those folks. I would be fairly confident as well we will face a giveback or two as well. And before everyone starts yelling why give anything back, I'm not for it, think we should fight etc...just trying to make a point here.

Absolutely. We all go up together and we all go down together.

That's a huge concessions and so you can understand why they may not be as eager as the TWU side to run towards a JCBA.

I suspect once a JCBA TA is released most will want the two sides to go back to the table and may be upset the TA was even brought out for a vote.

It was unfortunate this process started with talk of no concessions. That's the expectation but it won't be the reality. As a matter of fact, the Wage Adjustment included concessionary language.

So the eventual TA is also going to be a failure IYO as well? Wow!!!!!!

CB and P. Rez you need to just capitulate on that Medical now!!! You're hopes and endeavors to strive for more shall be fruitless. Save yourselves from the shame and humiliation.

Bob you're not thinking of marrying one of those stripper friends of yours so she can get medical benefits are you?
Nope! But the strip joint down the road from me had a car wash for the men, and a bounce house for the kids. Things are different here in Texas.

Hold on LUS dude! I remember talking one of the CC in LAS, and his words were "AA would never file for BK, they have too much money on hand!" 6 months later he was white as a sheet. Bankruptcy is a tool used by companies, and thanks to American, that company can still file even with a healthy cash on hand balance. Go ahead and be part of that "Restore and more" crowd at LAA, we will see just how long this JCBA will last before the next round at self-financed trip to BANKRUPTCY.

Not going to concern myself with the threat of another BK. I've been thru 2 of them, and I'm still here to look back on it as well as appreciate the current good times. I had my wages slashed, my station outsourced, and spent some time on furlough as well. I doubt that you can relate to any of that. I'm going to enjoy and take full advantage of the good times, and ride the wave until it hits the beach. It may happen again, and it may not.

I like reading these boards. The New AA rampers on both sides cry a lot from what I read. Sure youll get less then industry leading with these all talk no action attitudes, not a true unionist amongst you just saying

That's funny, your first post in this forum and you mention crying AA rampers, yet you're crying about seeing any true union folks here. We have a word for that where I'm from, but I digress...Welcome member since 2013 yet only 4 posts, welcome!

Unfortunately, some TWU peeps are more focused on making sure the favorite child gets spanked instead of getting their favorite cookie from pops. Truly amazing, working for a company that makes billions per quarter and we have TWU peeps who are more focused on preventing LUS from keeping its health care. I get the feeling that 90% of all TWU peeps will vote yes if they just get double time and a few holidays. The TWU Local prez from ORD came through yesterday and he seemed like he wanted a contract yesterday or at least before his election.
