and the traveling public.
Why would the traveling public read our forum that would be like you reading the Macy employee forums. I would think you had something better to do, even if it was defrosting the old Kelvinator in the garage

And you as well I assume.

I support the picket and wish the IAM was more proactive to it, but the travelling public? they'll take one look over there and 90% will say you fkers are paid too much anyway and btw don't lose my bag

You are missing my point. I have been caring and actively involved for many years concerning the betterment of this work group. The point is I don't think it is reasonable to expect informational picketing to change the course of the company's agenda in negotiations. They will shrug it off and so will the public who views a 30 second sound bite on the news. It will be viewed as a hollow display of solidarity. Do you really believe there is any solidarity among this combined group of members? Without true solidarity; it will be viewed as nothing more than sabre rattling. This is where organized labor has repeatedly failed. They fail to recognize the importance of building solidarity among the members through communication. Everyone on here is left to speculate because of it. Fertile soil for the seeds of division. The beat goes on!

Don't expect others to fight your battles for you. Likewise, don't expect others to give a rats arse about how unfairly you believe you are being treated. Our issues. Our fight. I never suggested the traveling public follows this forum. Their exposure to this issue will be nothing more than viewing a 30 second sound bite on the evening news. I wouldn't put too much hope in informational picketing turning the tide in the posture of the company at the table.

I fear this post left the Weez limp

Update

Can we please stop telling the company what we are not going to fight for?Social media has its downside when we are fighting each other, sheesh.

P. Rez
Is that a shot at the TWU, P.REZ? Just curious...

I'm beginning to see this protest more as an issue of Aircraft Maintenance outsourcing. Which IS absolutely an issue the public should be made aware of and just could care about if brought to them the right way.

Feel free to make them aware. In the end.... they don't really care. What is my cheapest fare and don't lose my bag. This is not their battle but ours.

Some of the planes they are flying in (hundreds) are made in Brazil. What do they care if an engine is changed there. Weez didn't the company explain what the investment is no threat to AMTS. A hundred million dollars is couple of hangar doors and a new lighting system Does it not make sense to have a MTC base on the other side of the world?

We will 100% agree to disagree then.

No matter what it wasn't well thought out. To me all it did was put tension between the unions.

I love you Weez but your AMT brothers don't give a chit about you especially you . Heck the line guys don't like the hangar guys WTF. I also think they will be fine

Either you didn't watch or you didn't believe the video, but Gary was pretty convincing that you better not think you're safe as a AMT for the New American...of course that's a TWU negotiator talking and not one of the IAM guys, so why give a chit.
