JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA Fleet

Thanks Kev!

Jester for us its not really workable unless they want major delays which I would not have an issue with bec the leads are working 2 flights at the same time often on one side and the other of the building so for us it would not really work the phx dfw and mia trips often come in with over 160 bags military often and phx and dfw seem to have a contest about how much mail and freight as both come in with over 2k of it take the runner out as he/she is running the bags that makes it 2 person team as the lead be either in the jetway or on the other flight

Three man teams (plus lead/crew chief) are plenty provided they are not running bags or excessive amounts of freight with ground turns (short turns). Frankly, even a 2-man teams (plus the lead) are workable in most situations especially with a power stow (and I know that's a reality few want to hear.) Of course with 2-man teams, the AA crew chiefs would need to be more involved in the unloading and push backs. The Fort Worth boys will look to slash ground operations as they ran a lean operation with AW/US.
I'm sure its coming

It is frustrating that we don't meet again until May 22nd. The negotiating team knew when we got this news that the membership would be frustrated. Having said that. Keep in mind who is negotiating now. Sito and Harry or the company officials that are in there now, are not going to negotiate every week. But the good news is, they make really good progress the weeks they are negotiating. This week went very good as far as making progress. I have said before. Sito and Harry are not coming in to negotiate for another 6 months. They plan on wrapping this up. While it is frustrating that we don't meet until the week of May 22nd, it is good like Prez says that we have 5 weeks between now and the end of July. While I can't give specifics, I can tell you IF things continue to progress like they have the last two meetings with the executive team, we will be very close to an agreement. We might even have one. I know many are frustrated. And rightfully so. But believe me, other than leading industry pay, you simply would vote no if we brought out what the company was offering. So we have to continue the fight. We will get there. But the company counts on people being impatient. They count on them getting pissed at their negotiating team. They love reading this stuff and hearing the frustrations. They even in the past have posters on here to fuel the flame. I think Prez and I try to keep you as informed as possible. I would ask all that are on here to help spread the word. Are you helping spread the word? Or are you helping fuel the frustrations. I'm not sure what many think they will achieve from fueling frustrations. I would ask all to help spread the word in your work areas to stay determined to get a leading industry contract. That's what we deserve. And that's what we are fighting for. I am personally not going to vote to bring something out to the members that I have to ask you to vote no for. I wouldn't be doing my job, if I felt you should vote no. But this doesn't come easy. That's just how these guys negotiate. Nothing unexpected if you've been through it before with this group.
With all do respect CB do you think Sito and the company are going to ask for your personal approval? Nope this is the contract we are going to put it out it will get 51% approval. Probably leaning more to AA folks because they are the majority

Al you're being misinformed if you believe that the TWU side is not in FULL support with their IAM friends and Brothers. TWU Leaders and Negotiators are not willing to accept something that panders to one side and treats the other with disrespect.

But I'm sure the rumor mill will keep spinning the same old line anyway.

You have two people telling you that it can be done. The amount of AC and type of AA are not unique to your station. It can be done. And watch out for those CR-1s

Weez you are being naive. They know what it will take to get it passed. They go to AA health plan even if all LUS vote no it will still pass . won't it?

Al you seem to be making an assumption that we don't want some measure of lower costs on our Medical too. You don't think plenty of our guys are going to zoom right in to that language before anything else with the prices currently on Family plans?

The TWU guys in PHX told me they are voting no if the LAA insurance comes back for a vote.

Come on Weez we get 3% over delta plus differential and say 10 holidays. The healthcare can be the same (AA) with yearly adjustments and the contract will pass and you know it and so do they

I will give them "A" for effort but we are outnumbered on that one. It won't be an issue if the rest of the contract satisfies the LAA people

To Add to that P
Tell Sito and Harry that anything that forces LAA into the IAMPF in any way , shape , or form, it's a non starter
Don't waste our time bringing that to us
It's a Hell No.

Two posts , how many TWU guys are in PHX anyway?

I was talking LAA system wide
Not just one station
I find that hard to believe,if true we may not see a contract for a long long time. You are aware that all settled work groups and Managers have AA"s plan. I don't see them making an exception I also don't see some TWU dude in DFW holding out for the US plan and leaving money on the table

Al maybe I've never done a good job of informing you how many people I know in both MIA and DFW who do nothing BUT talk about what they pay out in Medical costs monthly.

The worst of course are the ones who took the top plan and are paying out almost $600.00 per month.

You have ZERO clue how many guys want your medical plans. It IS a major issue for BOTH sides.
