JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA Fleet

I will agree that Kev seems to be a straight shooter.

Thank you.

Idk and was just asking,I mostly don’t want to see that DL +7 turned to DL+3 over that bs 2% profit sharing when DL is getting what 9%.?

10.1 this year, but who knows what 2018’ll bring?

We can agree to disagree. I personally would like a detailed breakdown of anything given to the membership. I'm sorry if it seems redundant but it also leaves no room for questions later. I like transparency, nothing left to the imagination. Might seem boring to most but listening to a room full of people speculating and bitching gets old.

I think a detailed breakdown on all items is a completely reasonable request.

It hard to deny they aren’t straight f*****g us on this profit sharing,Parker must be laughing his ass off.
What’s really bad is the number of people on Fb saying you should be grateful for it when folks complained about it dropping from 3.5 to 2%

Those people drive me batshit crazy, second only to the people that insist on calling it “free money.” Guess they forget that it’s the workers that generate the revenue in the first place?

We “used” to have Penalty Hour language but we lost that in 2003. The industry has “shift continuance” and similar language. (Language being UAL and SWA. And DL also does it)

No penalty hours at DL. Yet another thing losing representation has cost us.

Question are we not owed a 4% raise the other groups got when we sign a JCBA? If so then where will that fit in on our total hour rate.
Realistically on CB or Prez could maybe answer but what do you guys think?

That's already been included in the raises we've received.

I’ll take your word on that WeAAs. I thought at one time the TWU had a “true penalty hour” where if you stayed over your shift for 10 mins you got paid an hour at the appljcable rate. Then the language changed to where you got paid at the applicable rate for time worked. ( not a true penalty hour)

We did have that true penalty hour and it was actually as long as you were given a job assignment and it was noted on the submissions (206) to Admin you could badge out 1 minute after your shift and would be paid a full hour of OT. People were convinced though through the grapevine that you had to stay 7 minutes to be paid because of the clock but that wasn’t true.

Now it does seem like many have their personal wish list of what they want Santa to throw down the chimney when the day comes. PH is my personal stocking stuffer I’m looking for.

Believe it or not many operational managers want that back too. It’s a great tool to fix a little scheduling issue that could pop up from time to time.

Kev you have no type of “Shift Continuance” policy? Do they ever then just force you to stay outright to finish a trip?

I don’t find PS to be that much different then going to the Bodega to buy lottery tickets. Nothing personal seriously to wanting to see your Company perform well.

Now check out this little backpedal.

Rewind: United is rethinking its lottery plans, announced in the email below sent on Monday afternoon to employees by President Scott Kirby.
A message from Scott: We hear you. Changing our ops incentive program.

Dear United colleagues,

Since announcing our planned changes to the quarterly operations incentive program, we have listened carefully to the feedback and concerns you've expressed.

Our intention was to introduce a better, more exciting program, but we misjudged how these changes would be received by many of you.

So, we are pressing the pause button on these changes to review your feedback and consider the right way to move ahead. We will be reaching out to work groups across the company, and the changes we make will better reflect your feedback.

Appreciatively,
Scott

I don't even want to talk about that @@%$#show.
The didn't even ask for input or anything. Since Jeff's reign of terror, the operation was a mess. Oscar and his team cleaned things up and every department stepped up to beat all metrics; which we've received every quarter. It might have been small (after the tax man got to it), but everyone contributed to the operation, and now this nonsense........ Sorry to break in, but had to vent.

Carry on................

I'm glad that we have this, since some supervisors get the idea that you have to stay the full hour. It is called "Task Completion" - singular, not PLURAL - TASK not TASKS - for a reason. I complete my flight, then you give me my exception card for an hour and I'm off to the clock. PERIOD.

Always look forward to the occasions you chose to break in personally T5.

Comes in very handy for management when Maintenance has been called out and the plane backs up some and needs a push off the gate after they’ve looked into the issue.

I'm not holding by breath by any means over the 4%. If it was folded into the raise we got then so be it, it just wasn't explained very well to the membership. Details always seem to be overlooked.

In December 2014, Parker announced a 4% increase to all union groups when they received a JCBA. At the time, the APFA had ratified their JCBA and the pilots were working towards the same.

The 4% given at that time took the APFA to 7% above DL. That became the goal at the time, to bring all groups to DL +7.

In subsequent years, DL and UA received raises which allowed us to also receive raises on excess of 24% and the goal turned into DL+3 and then UA +3 once they passed the DL wages.

As it stands, we're currently 1% above the UA wages.

Correct.

us.
yep Kevin the free money ones really put me over the edge, I’m like we earned this out there busting our ass when it was hot as hell or cold and rainy. Free money?? Give me a freaking break no wonder we vote in chitty contracts

So is it now UA or DL + 7%?
I remember the first part about the + 4% after jcba but the other parts about it being rolled into our raise may be true but was never properly spelled out to the membership or I'm just getting forgetful and old

Steve even though it’s been argued on this board between me and an old friend of yours I’ll try this again.

When US merged with us Parker was stating that he didn’t believe in Profit Sharing and instead wanted to pay us 7% above the top in the Industry between UAL and DL (whoever was greater) He did go 7% above with the completed deals with the Pilots, FA’s and then the PSA. You already know our story.

Then the industry after our merger started showing insane profits and the first PS checks at DL started to come out. Our FA’s And Pilots (Mostly the FA’s) went bananas and screamed that they wanted PS too.

When Parker relented and agreed to give us all PS (here’s the disagreement) Parker began to start using the line 3% above the top in the industry. Economically there was no other reason for him to delete 4% then the PS formula being added to our compensation.

Through multiple roadshows he’s now clammed up completely on any ? above whoever as it should be since the negotiating room is the only place those conversations should ever take place anyway.
