JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA Fleet

- despite your similar experiences with CS portfolio manager FSCs and their related scams, i guess i'm a bit more cynical about it. i understand it's a lifeline to those that need options, i'm just not one of them.

- i've spoken to a few managers, from level 2 to level 5 and they are of the opinion that the 'new' aa will seek this out with the CWA. the outsource employees in my station do a good job with baggage service, it's just that the new aa will streamline the work/job and control the employees. the combined airline will have x-amount more bags to handle...they see the future.

- ord is united's hq and i can't see all airlines' planes waiting 95 minutes in line to get deiced at a city car wash. too many flights from all...i'm sure aa will still have deicers on hand.

Well the darn buggers never should have outsourced the BSO in the first place if now they intend to bring it back home. Hopefully get some nice old Motherly Senior biddies and a few youngun PTers to help them out back in there.

BSO like any others PSA job is an AA face and should be brought in home.

I know all about that Deice operation you got over there in ORD. They take very good care of them folks but I hear they’re an A Team and deserve every ounce of it. (Nice trucks BTW)

Thats what im talking about. Im concerned Gary has bent the knee as weez has. Weez been begging the iam for a job and was told to sabatoge his own local leadership to be considered for work, presumably organiz im ng jetblue, but im not sure what the promise is. Not sure if a promise was received by gary but weez wont get a promised gig after a jcba as he thinks.

I was promised a position organizing strippers and bikini car wash girls up and down the East coast and maybe a little out in California if I’m successful. It is TWU though and thankfully I didn’t have to beg. IAM was only offering Houston and I informed them that you would be a much more qualified organizer for that area.

They hung up the phone though? Weird?

it was the old aa that out-sourced them. outsource this, outsource that, more eagle...create envoy...etc. that breed.

managers tell me lus kept BSO in-house and it's very likely the new aa will go in this direction. agreed, lots of hands-on dealing with the customer. out-sourced BSO people making in the $12/hr-$13/hr range right now.

deicers looking for OT...no snow yet.

Deicing might call for a little more responsibility than BSO (not that BSO isn't important and would be better served by our own AA people). Some of the contract company's employee are um .. you know not as conscientious as an AA person would be

I know the mechanics group met last week and are meeting this week. But speaking for the fleet service on the IAM side, I don’t see anyway possible an agreement gets done by the end of next week. Unless there has been much talk last week and this week on scope and insurance and if that’s happened, then maybe the fleet side gets hit with a lot of issues to consider for the week. I know Gary P is on the executive team, so maybe he knows more than us that aren’t on the team. But I for one would be totally shocked if we reach an agreement by the end of the year. But I’m fine being proven wrong as long as it’s a leading industry contract.

I think there was a consensus here Charlie, oh well maybe two of us, who thought that was extremely unlikely.

Hate to agree with you but hoping anytime next year for a deal. I don't see much motivation for the company to do a deal since they mostly got what they want already.

I don’t really agree they have what they want. Yes they do have cross utilization, but not co-mingling. They can not put the two work groups together yet which is a big deal, especially on the mechanics side. And as far as an agreement. I definitely think it’s possible as long as we can get somewhere on scope and insurance. Those are definitely the two biggest remaining issues.

Actually BSO still existed on the LUS CWA side. They lost around 300 job positions when they gained their first JCBA.
