Because you all collectively and individually need the company more than the company needs each of you. Several have readily admitted on here they lack formal education, experience nor would they have a reasonable expectation to make total compensation in-line with or exceeding what AA currently pays.

The company is ultimately the one opening their checkbook and is the enabler here. Even your IAM negotiating reps free ride on th company’s system with positive space tickets to attend negotiations against their adversary.

Hey Weez that Bauman bus company strike you posted about was settled......but......when they were on strike the company lost their contract with 2 school districts and now they had to lay off 134 workers (your brothers) , quite a lot for a company that size. Now what???If DL or Jetblue were to organize how many cities would be closed and jobs lost?

Al it’s simple for me. From personal experience I’d prefer to be organized than not organized. And joining a Union comes with risks period. Life has risks or its boring.

Other Bus Companies who get those two contracts may hire those workers anyway since they already know the routes and the Companies have TWU representation.

Should people who want something a little better than what they have automatically cut and run and accept their lot in life? And please let’s not get Political with this. Again I don’t do the stupid Water Cooler crap. (More power to you though)

Don’t know much about it all Al except from the Newspaper clippings. And many of them did scab. I guess making an averge of 24k they felt they had no choice?

I’m not going to judge any side when I don’t know enough to pass a judgment.

The company put a figure on the table and lets the union figure out how to split it up. That is why Fleet service and Maintenance and Stores all split the money up different ways. But it all came down to the same thing. We took the money and lost the 8 hours pay for the the 1st to sick days. Stores kept there vacations but didn't get the money. Fleet divided theirs up and got what ever their people wanted. But in the long run. Each group ended up with the same money just spilt the baby to get there people to vote or it.

I bet you believe that there is really a legit vote for the contract too.

The figure on the table is never how much they’re reallly willing to sell you the car for either. You got to haggle.
