Why did the company give TWA Retirees more nonrev priority? They NEVER worked for the company. And for all their whining the retirees of Eastern or Pan Am don’t get *any* pass privileges. That was a big kick in the teeth to nAAtives who took the VEOP. Granted NRSA is non-contractual and the company *can* change the terms as they see fit but why throw nAAtives under the bus and give TWA retirees a windfall?

Dude did some TWA guy kick sand in your face on the Beach or something? Your left field questions and comments are pretty loopy coo coo.

Well weez, it is what it is, I kinda knew the US scale was coming our way.

It's actually based on the UAL scale. We wanted the pay above the top paid and the Company wanted to mirror their scale in order to maintain a similar progression in Labor expenses.

Don't think they'll wipe the slate clean, but I wouldn't be surprised if their Scope language becomes worse as time passes.
If the company is pissed at the TWU for picketing why does their outlandish proposal seem to target the IAM? Taking away the IAM pension and medical and scope seems to be putting the screw to the IAM members more so

Because those items cost more than the same articles in the TWU/AA CBA.
I still think in the end the retirement costs to the company are about the same 401+ or IAMPF (Not to mentions the billions AA still pays into the frozen AA plan). Guess I should have went into catering huh

You haven't seen the JCBA in totality so we can't gauge the proposed ir agreed to cuts for the TWU side.

Contrary to what most believe the Company isn't making proposals because an emotional pull. They usually want cuts other airlines have received in their negotiations. For the IAM, that means proposed cuts to their medical and scope. We may not face those cuts simply because they already have those cuts from us.

The current 401K match is more expensive than the IAM pension payments.

Only reason that might be true is you have more members.

Not everyone on your side is in the. 401k and the company raised the contribution to the IAMNPF to equal your match.
When they froze my US pension plan they had a company base account that the company contributed to. It would be a good idea for the 18 year olds who retirement is the last thing on their minds

At TOS the 401K match is about $1.70 per hour without concern about status of being PT or FT. I believe the IAM FT contribution is $1.30 for FT and $0.85 for PT.

The Company could use the disparity to hold the current level of the 401K matching at 5.5% as raising it that could mean a significant rise for the IAM contributions and an added overall cost that could be used in another area.

And yet you ignore the fact there are many on your side who aren’t in the 401k at all.

And not everyone on your side is topped out either, there are many variables you didn’t take into account.

Took them into account, as a whole it is more expensive.

The TWU participation is offset by having the 401K match as per hour worked as opposed to the IAM contribution which is for scheduled hours.
