Mr Talbert are you out of your mind. SWA Management would completely annihilate them. It would be total scorched Earth.

No they need to wait and someday many many years from now the Company will move on their position. (Not a dime of retro of course)
They are doing what they think is best I guess.

They know their members better than us.

Weez to you think the AMTs at LUV would have a contract now if they had another union?AMFA has been walking on eggshells since the NWA debacle . The are ripe for a card drive

No. Their Lawyers have a vice grip on their balls and their wallets. But wtf do I care. They can rot till they retire if they’re too dumb to figure it out for themselves.

Swamt is a freakin Zombie.

Yes, absolutely 100%. Even though I’ll get piled on they should be in the TWU. TWU would represent Mechanics, Ramp and FA’s at SWA and would have the financial resources (AMFA doesn’t have any) to stage a campaign like the TWU is doing right now against AA on Aircraft Maintenance outsourcing.

The AMFA protests of late have been pitiful. And again not to put their members down for any lack of trying. They don’t have the MONEY or the contacts to mobilize masses of people and pressure.

Hell even joining with the Pilots would be 1000% better than where they’re at right now. Right now they’re completely dead in the water with no sails.

Yes it is truly an outrage and a travesty how AMFA has performed. I would think the members would jump to another union in a heartbeat.

They’re living in Fantasyland for an ideology in a Country where the Laws will step on them like bugs. And swamt has absolutely nothing to sell but he’s going to keep trying to sell that bottled air of his.

He can’t admit to himself that his bottled air isn’t curing anyone.

But he’ll also continue to come to this little street corner like a long haired crazy man carrying his sign saying “The end is nigh, repent ye sinners” and everyone else will continue to walk by ignoring him going about their business. (And I’m the idiot who’d like to get him some help)

I mean just look, it's in black and white how many AMTs AA has and how many WN has. It couldn't be any clearer yet there are still lemmings out there. It just blows me away.

But blah blah blah blah blah they (barely over 2000 people) have the best Contract in the industry (now $4.00 per hour less than AA at TOS)

Anyway again too much blah blah blah blah blah.

Yes. They said to the co. and the union that they had no dates available to meet until late Nov and Dec. However, with that said they both (mediators) said that they will not schedule anything until one of the two sides are ready to move as we hit a stalemate. The union is done moving and adjusting on giving the co. relief on certain issues. As the co. has not moved on any of the must haves they were demanding, it is time for them to move or we just keep the contract we have which will not allow them to do many of the maint. outsourcing they want and say "need" to do. So until they so movement (which they have at one time and yanked it off the table) then we will sit idle at status quo with current contract as "they" are the ones seeking relief in current contract language as well as maint in Hawaii, soooo, we sit and wait.

When we went through that process we learned the Mediators are there to get a deal. It doesn't matter to them what side comes out ahead they may focus off getting a deal.

One of their tactics is to put everyone on ice and not schedule any sessions in an attempt to the sides moving.

Wouldn't be surprised if at your next session the offer from the airline gets worse. The union will complain to Mediator who in turn will tell them to get back to the table and negotiate and not risk the offers being worse. The union counters with something like, "this won't pass a vote." The Mediator then says OK, por it out a vote and if gets turned down then we're back to negotiations, but put it out for a vote.

For us, I believe the NMB was invited to the LAA negotiations so the unions can get those speeches now rather than later.

BTW NY'er, in the latest update from the asso., how bad do you think this part will get for you guys?

"In depth discussions began on the Scope Article for Fleet Service."

It sounds as if it is getting deep. And I feel this part will take the longest as most are hearing of a great deal of outsourcing being requested from the company's side just as in our case. Any thoughts???

On the Fleet side I don't think it will be too bad, from an LAA/TWU perspective, because the main focus will be on A/C Maintenance, Facilties and Automotive jobs as it pertains to Scope. That may be another subject the Fleet side closes out first and we start on the sidelines waiting for the Maintenance process to reach its TA.

The LUS side seems to have a fight to keep catering and smaller cities, but I'm sure there are others on these pages more versed in the positions that may be in jeopardy.

They won't be released. No chance.
The days of strikes are over especially for the big 4 and any job action will be met with a court order in a heartbeat. I do see some on Bookface pounding their chests, it's complete nonsense
