That is more than likely the biggest Hang up on the medical. The company knows that if the association retains the LUS medical then ALL other represented groups will come after it. It should not be held against us just because other groups gave in. But it is.
Agreed... however... Is it the Membership's problem as a represented work-group negotiating in good faith as an aggregate, that OTHER groups may, or may not have waffled?

Thomas Hobson, a portrait in the National Portrait Gallery, London

A Hobson's choice is a free choice in which only one thing is offered. Because a person may refuse to accept what is offered, the two options are taking it or taking nothing. In other words, one may "take it or leave it". The phrase is said to have originated with Thomas Hobson (1544–1631), a livery stable owner in Cambridge, England, who offered customers the choice of either taking the horse in his stall nearest to the door or taking none at all.

Weez... You hit it on the head -- just as the video explained.. the battlefield is for your mind!!

Stock·holm syn·drome-- "feelings of trust or affection felt in certain cases of kidnapping or hostage-taking by a victim toward a captor."

Think about what this dude in the video just said... outsourcing, and substandard compensation should NOT acceptable, just because they claim it's the norm!
LESS pay, benefits, and job loss, should not be the acceptable to you, simply because they have PAYED someone to claim it should be.
It only becomes the "norm", when you capitulate, and submissively accept it as the norm!

Why is it that Gary Peterson can put out a more informative and substantive update with a what appears to be a laptop computer and YouTube account than the IAM communications department with its bevy of overpaid communications staff, studios, camera equipment, journals touting UGE and McGee voluntary recognition schemes?

They why did the IAM enable this at AS and UA whipsawing (Kev’s term) their members with these low wage voluntary recognition outfits?

Because of me. All the iam does is lie. Last time they put out a video at united ta1 where sito claimed it was landmark, and 700 claimed it was "one of a kind". 700 always agrees with sito due to considerations. I blew sito and that ta up with the help of our friends.
And lehive isnt that great with videos but he is all thats left.

Sito lies 100% so it really doesnt make any sense.

Tell the idiots that they will finally see the 2020 health care (extra year) and clt and phl cargo....soon. according to Superfly. Toss in the money i previously broadcast. You guys are just stupid. You rent out your brains. So dumb.
At any rate, Fly says lus health is gone anyways in 2022 due to the loa already secured when the iam threw out our insurance with the 2014 contract regarding cadillac tax.

Im a no vote still, but the next offer will be the last according to Superfly. Then superfly claims they may have to save cost by eliminating some twu stations and iam work as well. This should be taken as hearsay and entertainment value only.

I remember that well. Ira called it “monumental”, but fortunately the membership resoundingly rejected it thanks to your efforts.

Raw and honest. No BS with 2 Management puppets reading from a script with ballroom music flittering in the background.

we talked about credit card revenues..one analyst has it pegged at apprx. $1.2 billion per year now, sees it being apprx. $2 billion per year by 2020.

the airline is looking at maybe an additional $800 million annually in free money. this is one reason parker keeps bragging as we go forward, $5 billion profit/per year.

there are a few older members in my station who tell me that we are not rocket scientists and should accept the company's proposal(s) if TAed. these guys are just looking for stability from a contract...and fear an economic downturn or terrorism that could derail everything.

the airline recently made more money in one year than it's in entire history. the union representing us has never seen such advantageous conditions to get us industry-leading everything. unfortunately, unions have never been weaker on the whole and it will be a struggle.

the wages proposal was insanely woeful. it's encouraging that the company set aside money for signing bonuses, though their plan on dispensation insults all those with 10+ years seniority.

all in all, the company wishes to give us back just about everything we once had. unacceptable.

Those few older members are infected by the ghosts of 1995. This group negotiating for us today is not going to take a deal to pacify people not interested in working under it. They’re going to have to wait. As far as Economic Downturn or Terrorism I’m not going to live under my bed waiting for the Monster to show up myself.

Actually Unions probably have never been stronger in the Airline industry. They just need to coordinate more.

I don’t mind the idea of getting back what we had over 15 years ago as far as Benefits but this deal doesn’t even accomplish that. They left behind Cabin Service and a bunch of Stations closed on the TWU side? I can make a list of more but what good is it.
