1 billion dollars a mile nope. That Tesla dude wants to transport people a la vacuum tube

Hyperloop!

That ones an interesting idea. But I’ll be long dead on that one too.

Maybe, maybe not. The future is here.

Ok wow. I think they were “mutually” talking but ok I’ll fly with you know the “real” facts and not the “fluff” people always put out.

So UAL was so bad operationally, probably weeks away from Liquidation that the first thing new CEO Munoz did when he got in was call IAM’s star pitcher Mike Klemm and get on his knees and beg and plead for his help before it was too late?

As a matter of fact my Grapevine tells me that Munoz was going to lasso the Moon for Brother Klemm. But that damn sellout Klemm had a moral streak seeing Munoz sobbing to no end and started striking all those tasty treats.

Munoz that crafty Devil was only crying Crocodile tears but that Asshat, Bozo, Pimp, Moron, Retard, Sellout, Wimp, Mush for brains, Goofball Klemm fell for it hook line and sinker. That Dumbass.

(Ok so I was a little Dramatic there but I think you get the point)

There is always a degree to how much leverage either side has and how much that leverage can be pushed till the other side tells you to go piss off. And they really mean it.

That’s some nice revisionist history.

As for Klemm, well, your words not mine...

UA was not in risk of liquidation. TWA was that carrier.

I was joking man. Holy Ha Ha. Hey look what I just found. Seriously I swear I just found this. I was searching for the exact numbers for that vote and an old TN thread “pooped” up.

You’ve been at this a pretty long time now Kev haven’t you? The line never changes as if it’s an old scripted Movie. 5 years ago.

I don’t think your affinity for the Dude helps the other cause you supposedly have a Dream for. But hey what do I know I guess?

The never failing? Anarchist.

Newly signed contracts between United Airlines (UAL) and its largest union have an unprecedented effect: They bring back work that had been outsourced and they protect thousands of other jobs from being outsourced in the foreseeable future.

Under the contracts, which are scheduled to be signed Monday, about 400 to 500 fleet service and passenger service agent jobs for United Express at Los Angeles International and San Francisco International airports were brought under the jurisdiction of the International Association of Machinists, which represents 30,000 United workers.

"We never had this before," said Mike Klemm, president of IAM District 141. "The unprecedented thing is that no {major airline} contract has ever been able to protect regional flying until now."

Now Kev I’ve also been able to read enough here and there items online to formulate a somewhat timeline of events. And again the story repeats itself with Bankruptcies and mergers at all those Musical chair Airlines one by one by one like a box of Dominos falling.

Your Delta/Northwest is part of that story too. Along with TWA, United, Continental, American, Usairways and I guess if you pull the string out of the hole enough you start to run into those Eastern, Pan Am, Baniff, Etc Airlines all cobbling together.

But I know, I know. Those damn sucky IAM Bastards. They did ultimately lose one group through all that carnage didn’t they?

Northwest Airlines.

I’m consistently consistent.

Unfortunately for my peers at UAL, they’ve had a good run of weak labor leaders over the last several years.

More than one, actually. But yeah.

And we all (as in all rampers at all carriers) pay for it.

Union representation is a value proposition; the truth is a unionized DL would help everyone, but sh*tty contracts only make that climb harder.

BTW, this is inaccurate. I don’t know if Klemm was deliberately attempting to deceive or honestly didn’t know, but CBA’s at NW “protected regional flying” to a degree long before this.

So what’s your solution to avoid all of these chitty Contracts as you call them? What would be your particular line to actually say “Wow I like this Contract” Do you even know what your line would be to say you have a “good” deal on your table and are going for it?

I have a feeling no matter what our groups eventually finally trot out you’re going to look at it and call it chitty anyway?

Curious? Do you personally know this guy Klemm or do you just seem to despise him because of what others tell you about him?

Sometimes your disdain for the man does come across as slightly personal?

Maybe they need a good solid Anarchist fist pumper who can blow real smoke up their asses and look like a complete idiot when he finds out he can’t deliver on his stump speech even with those real great intentions?

Got to keep your feet at least somewhat planted on the ground in life.

Oh and Kev again I’m sorry but NO you don’t know better than the over 70% of that Membership that voted to pass that deal.

I hope you’re not that arrogant and egotistical to think you do?
Exactly... this is where dudes like Nelson/Al/Kev are WRONG! They claim to be superior, and far more knowledgeable than the entire aggregate of the represented workforce. Collectively, the membership is far more informed than they realize, and they see through these cloaked anti-union agendas.

This is the reason we get election results like "770 to 20" AGAINST their Trojan Horse tickets!
