Was UA i'n banruptcy with that first contract, thats what I was referring to

I’m not sure honestly Al. But if they weren’t I’d like to read where they were at during the terms and conditions of their Bankruptcy Agreement to put that next one in place?

All I really know about there business is they did turn down a first offer that protected more work for less money for the next deal that gave them more money for those Stations to be placed on the chopping block.

And I’m not saying their decision is wrong Al anymore than I can say that anyone else is wrong for voting the way they chose to vote on anything in their careers.

And when a vote passes by over 70% to less than 30%, who the F does anyone in that minority think they are for telling that majority they’re wrong?

It seems the minority (losers) are always the group that have the biggest egos.

Hey besides they probably had contracts going back way before their BK one too Al? Both AA and UAL Ramp have been represented for a long time.

Thank Carter for signing that Airline Deregulation Act into Law that screwed all of us Al. Even AA’s own Uncle Bob Crandall said it was a bad idea.

Passengers packed in like mooing cattle today. He was right.

So are you trying to say that language can be crafted any way we damn well please and the Companies just go along and say “Sure Joe Union, whatever you want” ?

You do realize it’s called Negotiations and not Hostage taking and whatever Ransom we call for right?

I’m hoping that you do realize Negotiations is not as easy as you might be implying here Kev?

You know exactly what I’m saying; getting language wording exactly right is critical. A company will exploit any loophole it can. It is an NC’s job to make sure and seal those off. To miss one is bad enough. To just be lazy and let poor language get out the door for a vote is inexcusable. Neither of those changes the fact that the previous contract was trash, and their current one is only nominally better. But even it has holes you can drive a truck through. If I can see them, you don’t think an attorney at HQ can’t?

BTW, I may be “at will” now, but this isn’t my first rodeo. You can can stop treating me like it’s my first day anytime.

Kev what time of year does DL tell you you're getting a raise(if you're getting one)

They usually announce something in the fall for the coming spring. We didn’t hear anything this past fall/winter, and only now have there been some very vague “stay tuned” whispering about something coming later this year. No specific details, or even a specific date for an announcement yet. My guess- and it’s just that- is that they’re waiting to see what you guys get first so they can “just” beat it by a few cents.

Took 40 years but it finally played out,the industry is oligopoly. There might be some smaller carriers merging but you have a mature industry

You do recall that was NOT a Section 6 Negotiation although that don’t really mean crap anymore anyway either.

So if you then call it only “nominally” better (I disagree obviously) and if that was the best language the Company would agree to PERIOD, should they have just skipped it? Said “Thanks but no thanks”?

Better they had left a much shorter shelf life on those Stations then the years that were added?

And hopefully we have at least another Decade to take advantage of that now Al? Or I do.

If they'd done it right the first time, a reopening wouldn't have been necessary.

And let's not forget, it wasn't DL141 that called for a reopening, it was UAL's CEO. Let that sink in for a minute.

Sorta like how DL treats it’s at-will employers better on an elective basis than the IAM is willing to bargain for UGE and McGee employees that pay them (a case could be made on a non-fully consensual basis) for their “representation”)

Ok wow. I think they were “mutually” talking but ok I’ll fly with you know the “real” facts and not the “fluff” people always put out.

So UAL was so bad operationally, probably weeks away from Liquidation that the first thing new CEO Munoz did when he got in was call IAM’s star pitcher Mike Klemm and get on his knees and beg and plead for his help before it was too late?

As a matter of fact my Grapevine tells me that Munoz was going to lasso the Moon for Brother Klemm. But that damn sellout Klemm had a moral streak seeing Munoz sobbing to no end and started striking all those tasty treats.

Munoz that crafty Devil was only crying Crocodile tears but that Asshat, Bozo, Pimp, Moron, Retard, Sellout, Wimp, Mush for brains, Goofball Klemm fell for it hook line and sinker. That Dumbass.

(Ok so I was a little Dramatic there but I think you get the point)

There is always a degree to how much leverage either side has and how much that leverage can be pushed till the other side tells you to go piss off. And they really mean it.

Oh and Kev again I’m sorry but NO you don’t know better than the over 70% of that Membership that voted to pass that deal.

I hope you’re not that arrogant and egotistical to think you do?
