Racer I never said that it would make sense to negotiate all those contracts separately. I just said that I think they can negotiate them that way if they chose.

Of course it would be extremely counterproductive but if talks are now stalled what does it matter anyway?
I agree with you Weaas that it doesn’t make sense and that you never said it does. I guess they could do it separately if they choose. What I am trying to say is if the association bargains individual agreements in section 6, doesn’t it make sense that they would bargain the same language in both? So no sense in separating . (I think we are agreeing)

P. Rez I believe already said they wouldn’t do it but I was hearing it bandied about as a thought for a little while. Again if they’re not getting anywhere with the last remaining issues and it gets heated between the Company and Association, then might as well.

IF things went to section 6, both unions would have to declare for section 6 for their respective contracts, but it would be the association doing so for both parties, and the association being the one negotiating for that agreement. And eventually there has to be a combined workgroup, so there would be no reason, for the association to not negotiate the same agreement for both sides.

Curious how Section 6 would really even benefit if right now 6 months out from our contracts becoming amendable we seem to have hit a high drama section of the production where we should be watching the finale?

“No reason” still doesn’t specify can’t even if doing so would be on the order of a little ridiculous and again counterproductive.

What a mess. Sheesh!

Why do people use that term “mess”? The Company has offered our Unions something neither can accept and I know you would absolutely condemn them if they did and the Unions and Members/Employees are voicing their displeasure pretty much how I read it unanimously at the Company.

How do you see a mess?

Orderly transition? F@@KING MESS is more accurate

Oh, the offer you guys received is terrible.

My post was referring to the idea of the Association trying to negotiate 2 separate (but identical) CBAs in Section 6.

Ah ok. I just see people use that term “mess” too often and 90% of the time it’s on FB when they have no clue what else to say and just have to say something.

What a mess.

No new talks scheduled
A negotiating team that is on the outside looking in
The awful proposal that the company thinks is great
Infighting

I think a reason might be because the company wants us on a single contract. I don't think Doug and his team ever want to see a US East and West Pilots situation again. Getting more flexibility between the IAM and TWU was one of the reason's for the raise a couple years ago right? If the company is refusing to offer a contract without concessions, why make it easier to reach a JCBA? Why not say if there is not a fair JCBA we can continue with separate agreements?

If they won't give us what we want, why make it easier?

Would this maybe make it easier to hold onto LUS medical for the IAM side?

Now let’s not start thinking selfish shall we. People yell at each other when you’re selfish.

I’m personally having fun watching the Company try to sell it to us. The scripted videos with the soft accompaniment music in the background and how they keep turning to each other as they switch talking back and forth to try and keep us awake.

Then video 2 was hilarious. Steven Johnsen is a great guy. We all love Steve. And would you please stop spelling his name wrong, please. LMAO.

Then the Comments. There’s one fruitcake Manager who’s been commenting against our Unions and they keep smacking him around like the moron he is for even being on there.

This stuff really is funny Al and I hope they keep going for a little while.
