It's time to sign a AMFA card

Ah WeAA,

Tsk tsk...

I am not old enough to draw my terminated pension from the PBGC nor am I a participant in the IAMNPF.

So that shoot your theory out the window.

Is it possible with no new entrants into the IAM pesnion plan, more members collecting year over year and a down turn of the stock market could put the pension in a similar position of other pensions?  Can we agree it is not 100% long term safe?

No we cant, each year by law every DBP is reviewed, the IAMNPF is 105% funded and in no danger.

Thats funny during the raid, they went around the system and informed the membership what the IAM was asking for and what the company offered.

And I doubt the IAM represented M&R want to lose their pension.

And AMFA didnt protect NW, AS, UA or ACA.
That's just how HollowHead used to word it before he left.

We won't "lose" anything.  Only the future accruals.  And $500 some odd dollars a month is not a deal breaker for many.

how does that explain the Teamsters pensions being underfunded if they are reviewed as well?
they cited not enough new entrants in plan, too many members retiring, and returns too low on the stock market to keep up with demand.

If the IAMPF were so gosh darn peachy keen why does it seem like there are so many on the IAM side screaming to get us to be a part of it? If it were the greatest thing since sliced bread then we should be the ones begging to get in right?

700 IGNORED all the questions I've asked him about the issue quite obviously so far. That should tell the readers out there what to think about it. And if the former Continental employees had to say NO TWICE what does that say to how much it may be pushed on us?

I support the association but I do not support the IAMPF being forced on me at the costs of other benefits in other areas. Sorry but go find some new hires and new union members to feed it.

And what does the IBT have to do with the IAM pension?

Nothing, so what are you going to try and deflect next?

And WeAA

Why did US, UA, the former NW say yes?

What is the average plan participant age? What happens when it is putting out more than its taking in? Do I get to vote when I'm 80 years old if my benefits are cut or not if the fund has no choice?

All retirement options have risks today but I don't want to hate my own union when they have no choice but to cut my benefits and make my life harder when I'm an old fart. I don't want a union logo on my retirement check. Just do your best to represent me and I'll handle my own finances.
