And you are a legal and financial planning expert because you tools few courses at WWW and served on a bankruptcy negotiating commitee?

Josh
Ah you left out the part where I was on the Continental Airlines Flight Attendant Negotiating Committee, and they werent in bankruptcy.

And once again you add so much to the topic, and like I stated and asked several time, they do not know the difference between a single employer plan vs a multi-employer plan and are posting things that AA nor US cant do.

Sorry if we can not all be jackA$$ of all trades such as yourself. Kind of makes me wonder why you still get all huffy and puffy on your replies considering you no longer work for USAir.
So I take it you still dont know the difference between a single employer plan vs a multi-employer plan?

Still dont understand US nor AA control the IAMNPF?

Still dont understand neither US nor AA can terminate or freeze the plan?

Still dont understand its contractual language that they contribute to the plan and if they dont it would be a dispute under the RLA?

Still dont understand US has been paying into the plan since 2008 for M&R?

And if there are not future entrants into the plan then the plan begins to suffer and cuts need to be made. Or you have to ask the companies you work for to contribute more at the expense of other items in your CBA. Is a union pension plan insured by the PBGC if it collapses? No. What about the part that I have to ask for permission to take another job if I'm collecting and I cannot work in the same field or I forfeit my benefits?

Nothing personal again but I will support the union but not something that possibly can damage my own retirement for the expense of others. The former CO people said no twice to being included into the plan. They understood something about what they already had.

You may want to look to new hires to assist in the plan, not veterans who are now seriously thinking about our own retirements.

It is a multi-employer plan, it is not solely dependant on US Airways.

The plan is 105% funded.

The plan is backed by the PBGC as are all defined benefit plans.

And your 401k isnt gauranted, ask all those at US and UA who lost a lot of their 401k, and you dont think the company match is free money?  The cost comes out of your wages.

Do any of you actually do research?

Fast Facts about the IAMNPF
  • The IAM National Pension Fund is the 5th largest multiemployer pension fund in the United States.
  • The Fund has approximately $10.7 billion in assets.
  • The Fund has over 1,750 contributing employer locations.
  • The Fund pays pension benefits to over 90,000 retirees and beneficiaries, providing them with retirement security.
  • The Fund has over 100,000 active participants.

700 are you an IAMNPF recipient? Why do you post as if it's the best thing since sliced bread?

Josh

My 401K is better. Sito doesn't like 401Ks right? Does he still want DL F/As to join the joke of a pension IAMNPF?

Josh

And your 401k is not guaranteed and if Wall Street crashes so does your 401k.

Yep your 401k is worth $10 billion right?

did yours crash when all the so called big banks failed?   did your 401k take blows when the financial collapse of 08 happened?  did your company stop funding for your 401k?     my answer would be a big NO bec it was probably protected much like the way the bank mgrs. and ceos have since not one of them has seen prison or court given they caused the financial collaspe

Has anyone ever had to take a cut in benefits? Again being polite, no thank you. And at least I know EXACTLY how much I'm going to get in that frozen pension and have made the modifications necessary to my 401 to assist my retirement goals.

Even Robert Roach has said people in IAMNPF are getting paid a much reduced rate than what they were originally promised.

Yes you did agree when you voted for your concessions in chapter 11 and outside of chapter 11 in 2003.

You agreed to your pension being frozen.

"FROZEN" At least means I do not have to worry about it being thrown on the PBGC at the last minute for pennies on the dollar. I understand why you want me to be interested in the IAMPF because you are more than likely higher up on that pyramid. Your retirement is your problem. I'm not here to prop it up for you. The word "Pension" doesn't enamor everyone.

Why did the CO members say NO to the plan TWICE? I guess you'll just say that they're all stupid? If you're worried about your retirement, go back to work. That's if they let you?
