IBT No Show Forum

Your statement makes no sense and I fail to see how it is relevant to my post. Saying that I am management friecndly is very far off base.
I'm not just suggesting that your managment friendly, i'm suggesting your management! On here pushing propaganda to get any sheeple to vote yes.

Talked to some AT folks (not mechanics) so I am here to try and verify. As we (SWA mechanics) have thought, I was told the AT mechanics did in fact ratify the SLI agreements. Anyone have the %'s? Or should I ask, anyone willing to post them?

You can call whoever told you that a liar because I know for a fact that we have yet to tally all of our votes.. They are in a lock box and only 2 people have the key. Like AAI said, we're waiting on the AMFA tally date to actually count ours.. But, I guesstimate that AT probably passed it by about 70% +/- 5%.

When will we get the results for the LOAs and the dfw LOA? It closes today. Will they not release the results till after the TA is complete?

Thanks AvTech 04. I will let him know. I actually didn't believe him as we were told what you posted a while back. Thx.

The voting actually does not close for the 4 LOA's (1st ballot) until the 14th. 2nd ballot with sen/trans agreements will close on the 21st. I would guess that the will release all the results at one time, but they could release each one as they are done electronically.

I have a question. In the deleted thread before this one, AvTech 04 stated that Airtran pay was only $4 and hour less than SWA pay rates.
After actual pay differences were posted (by SWAMT I think), AvTech 04 never responded to it.
My question is: Are Airtran AMTs aware of the actual amount of money they will be out each month that they are not on our AMFA negoiated payscale, or are they still thinking it is only $4 an hour.

Y'all are still a paper ballot?

Yea, I know right!! Sad but true.. You have to keep in mind, our local at the IBT is actually a local for truck drivers. The majority of their members are truckers and we are their only airline division. Well, except for ASA, they just voted in our same local, that's why AirTran has been placed on the back burner for so long, they're too busy doing card drives....

You can't be out of anything if you haven't made it yet. Now if we were making it and it was taken away then we would be out of it. In other words you can't miss what you never had. We are still paying our bills with what we are making. Nice try.

You're right, I never did respond. Truth be told, the money is nice, but not a major driving factor for most of us. We more want to just be done with he integration so we can all move forward.

When I said its only $4/hr, I knew I wasn't 100% accurate with that. I didn't account for longevity and overnight pay. All I accounted for, per the main scale, is a SWA mech with license premium and top out on 8/16/2012 is 38.59 + 2/hr/license upto 2 licenses. Equalling 42.59/hr. that doesn't include longevity nor overnight. Airtran's top out on 10/2012 is 33/hr + 1.50/hr/license upto 2 license w/ 1.00/hr overnight = 37/hr not including longevity. So I was basing it off of Airtran's top 37/hr to SWA 42/hr which is $5/hr difference not $4. I didn't have the exact numbers at the time when I originally posted...

But like I said above, the money is nice but it wasn't worth giving up all of our seniority for it. Truth is, most of us are living just fine with what we make now. I mean, if you can't find a way to live making $30+/hr then you're doing somethig wrong... The biggest jumps going to be for AT's 5-7 year guys, they're getting almost $12/hr increase almost instantly. The 5-7 year guys stand to gain the most off the bat and are losing the most by not integrating sooner.. The under 5 yr guys are in the same position either way, they don't get a huge jump in pay instantly and are being pushed further down the seniority list.

That's why I think DOH is so critical and placing the staple clause for a few years, letting the junior guys gain some seniority and pay while getting the most senior guys that are ready to retire an opportunity to, and keeping the peace with our SWA counterparts.
