I was thinking the bidding would be sw to sw and at to at. All bets off if it came down to a layoff then seniority rules no fences what so ever. Of course the first part for bidding would only be temp till the dust settles, kind of a transtion period i guess. Like I said though, there can be no fences if it came down to a layoff. Just a thought. Its never to late to hear ideas.
And how long until the fences are removed? Would you suggest 3-5 years or something different? Never too late to throw ideas around. I bet both sides of the nego teams read this.

If they do read this forum, then they sure don't take it into account.
If they did then we would probably be voting on a deal with AT giving up 30% and no fences.
But they didn't come out with that offer did they?

3 to 5 would probably be a good number. Maybe the AT guys would have some input on that also

True. Think the 30% and no fences would have passed on both sides and we wouldn't be talking about this anymore. But.....

I'm new to this forum but have been reading it for some time. I thought I'd pass on that the feeling at the station I work is to take a one time hit on our seniority with no fences or LOA's and be done with it. Many of us concur with numbers we've heard before and that is 35%. We feel it would be fair since we are gaining that in pay, benefits, vacation, floating holidays and so on. I can live with this myself, let's just get it over with, I'm ready to start making some good money.

Please talk to you cmte members and IBT and let them know your thoughts and please encourage others to do the same.

Not "if" they read this forum, they do in fact read this forum. They also, do in fact, take a little into account, by no means do they take all into account. Funny you mention the idea if they did take into account the postings here that we would all be voting on AT giving up 30% and no fences. And no they did not come out with the offer of 30% and no fences. Matter fact it was never brought up as a % since the yearly boost and/or reduction was brought up. Which makes perfect sence that they are listening to the membership and not a buch of bored and annonymous yahoos out here in internetland. I say, send the offer over in writing and tell them it is in fact the lowest we will go as far as years and fences. Leave it in their hands. Period...

Only thing I can suggest is to send E-mails and phone calls to the IBT/teamsters as well as your nego committee on what you want to happen. The more they hear from all the AT mechanics, the more they might comply. The squeeky wheel gets the grease.

As you should already know, the % stuff is off the table. It's now the 4 year boost, no fences, no LOA's, some head count protections for MCO and BWI, and both the Integration and transitional agreements will be voted on together with one vote. AMFA did get some 401K language and Den maint moved into the transitional agreement which will help all of us in the long run. Once we get this all said and done, you too will enjoy the 9.3% 401K match.
AMFA is preparing a formal offer in writing addressing the above offer and should be sending it out to you guys hopefully before this weekend. So you all should be seeing it soon.

1) Why do we need protection for BWI and MCO?

2) why don't we have protection for all our stations?

2) Maybe we need to ask for more years?

3) Why give the letter up since there is an unforeseen future for these two stations?

4) What do SWA mechanics think about all this?

5) What do BWI and MCO feel about the protection?

1) Why do we need protection for BWI and MCO?
Because there will be an overage of mechanics after senority integration at these two stations and both SWA and AT wanted some kind of protections for this.

2) why don't we have protection for all our stations?
AMFA already has protections for layoffs in their contract. But not RIF's. SWA already runs very lean and at the minimums.

3 not 2 again) Maybe we need to ask for more years?
Have you not been reading the updates and history here? AMFA has came way down from 12 years in order to an agreement done. They cannot go in with more years at this time.

4) What do SWA mechanics think about all this?
Again, look back at all past post to see. This is the lowest we will go. The membership has voted on this. As far as the membership is concerned, this is the last, best, and final offer being presented to the AT guys. If all language is worked out as it has been told to the membership it more than likely will pass on the SWA mechanics side. Again, the membership "unnamously" voted for this offer to be sent.

3) Why give the letter up since there is an unforeseen future for these two stations?
Please go back thru the history, It's all there.

5) What do BWI and MCO feel about the protection?
I don't know personally. But I do know their ALR representing them, was very adiment about protecting those stations with the overlap and over head count after the combination.

I am a little leary of your questions because ALL of them have been answered in prior postings in this forum.
Just to clerify one more time, the above offer that you originally responded to is being sent to the AT side as a final offer from AMFA. They should be recieving it by the weekend. There is no way that there will be changes to your request of asking for more years. 4 is the number of years and the minimum that the SWA mechanics will accept, without fences, in order for this to pass on the SWA side.

So here we are mid morning. Anyone know if the offer has been sent over to the AT guys, teamsters, or ibt yet?
If any of the AT guys hear anything pls update us as we will do the same.

Sorry to my AT brothers that disagree but myself and many if not all that I work with are urging that we take a 30-35% one time hit in seniority with no fences or protections. One list and be done with it. I for one am so ready to make the money! WE are losing a lot of money everyday! It's going to happen so I say we just get it done and over with and move on, move on with more money in our pocket. It's like when you were a kid and you HAD to eat the spinach, just hurry up and eat it, get it over with and go outside and play!

Please please talk to you Comte and IBT and have the other mechanics do the same. We at SWA also want this done!!

I don't know any SW mechanics that are in a hurry to get this done. We can take as long as it takes to get a fair deal. After all, we aren't gaining anything in this. Just trying to keep what we have.
