IBT No Show Forum

The majority of the membership has also said the same. The 4 years is also my lowest. I also was leaning towards the percentage rather than years, however I see now how it will better serve the lower senority guys. Don't know if it will be a final offer from AMFA but I think it should be sent out to both memberships and let the mechanics from both carriers make the decision as it effects them, NOT the IBT.

I hadn't thought about it but you're right, it will help our lower seniority guys more and I'm all for that.

I still think a flat 4 only with no fences and nothing from the company will be a coin flip. But you only need 50.1%

Your right. Alot of the guys really want a reduction in senority from the AT guys, but they are extremely addiment about not taking a reduction in their senority (at least their nego committee is). And yes you only need 50.1% of the votes for this to pass. But I have a question, what do you mean by "nothing from the company" in your statement? From what I was told the 401K and Denver maint. will be in the transitional agreement, and the company is suppose to sign off on it. I honestly think we all need to look at this 4 yr boost, due to the AT guys holding so strong to the DOH they want. If they want their DOH so bad then they need to consider the 4 yr boost to keep it.

I was referring to the 401k and Den mx. I was not aware of those items staying in the agreement. But if its in there, I will retract my statement.

From what I was told, the 401K match increase as well as the Den maint will be moved over to the transitional agreement. I believe they are waiting for confirmation from the company on all issues that they are saying they will agree to prior to sending any written offer to the AT guys. They want to make sure what the company promises come to reality. Now don't quote me on this part but I do believe there will something addressing the 4th line of maint as well. Once I can get confirmation on this and my privious post on the counters from the teamsters I will post. I'm sure we will all be getting an update from the cmte soon.

I agree with you. These last few days have gone way down hill. That's why I stayed away from posting the last few days. I tried posting the update to stop the tactic and insults posting to get back on track of the issue at hand "senority integration."
So please if anyone has any input on the latest update, corrections, questions, or just your personal opinion about it please post. Let's stop all the insults and childish behavior.

BTW AT2006, AvTech, or MadMan, have any of you heard the same update from the teamsters counter offer?? Usually by now people have posted the same. And does anyone know if it's been sent over to the AT guys yet???

Agreed, I'm ashamed to have partaken in some of the events you describe. We should be at least acting like adults on here, instead we've had a useless contest on wits that hasn't contributed an inkling towards this integration.

Last I heard, it's been nothing but phone conferences and still nothings on paper, not even the last offer of 4 years from AMFA. But I heard the exact same as you, 2 1/2 with fences and AMFA stern on the 4 years, again I'll verbal offers and told to me by word of mouth.

To side note, I think the fences (LOA and protected slots) are what drive AT to a yes vote and SWA to a no vote. I hear a lot say, if theres an adjustment in seniority, then we want some temporary fences, otherwise DOH and no fences. Just word from the hangar floor.

I don't think there will be any movement early on, I think if there was any kind of movement it would more than likely happen down the road sometime, I mean I am talking years. I do hear you about the reasoning behind the fences. Just curious, we all know AMFA membership is firm on the 4 years, would the AT guys entertain temp fences with a die date sometime in the next couple contracts? Or maybe a set number of years? Or something like that? Not sure if they would on this side, but if AT did agree to the 4 years you never know. Just something to think about.
BTW, you guys should be getting the written offer very soon, it is coming we were assured that from the cmte. It was 2.5 year counter from the teamsters/IBT.

Why years? Why not the 30% straight up reduction in senority we talked about here?
