Just reviewing the LOA vote results, and the fact that our AMFA leadership recommended a yes vote on all 4 of them. I'd say they are a little out of touch with what the majority of the memberships wants. You tell everyone they need to vote yes on everything in your authoritarian manner. It, to me resembles the Teamster mode of operation which is , "we know what you need better than you do". No ,the membership isn't dumb as you infer, they merely like to think for themselves and make their own decisions.
Not only the4 LOA's, but I believe there was 2 of them (I think from DAL) that have also, not really recommended, but said we should vote yes to the integration/trans agreements. Even after they found out that the fences were a huge hurdle throughout the entire SWA system. Which is just another thing the membership doesn't want, but apparently one of the nego members insisted on it. BTW, your last sentence speaks volumes for the membership.

I don't know about you Lineguy but I'm thinking Jack Coonrod. I'm just surprised that he has taken time away from his side business to grace us with his knowledge.

He gives the appearance of having some knowledge of the inner workings in the formulation of the cyclogenic hormozoic nature of the quantum balance inside union leadership. Could be the Rod.

I have been told he is one of the 2 telling everyone to vote yes on all of it... So maybe he did write it, or at least have input on the writings of it.

Seems like everytime we have a vote on something important, this charater[coonrod] is urging everyone to vote yes. Kinda makes you wonder.

Years ago AMFA was criticized during the current CBA's road shows for not giving a recommendation on a yes or no vote. We told everyone you should make your own decisions. . Then it got voted in and all the no voters complained that AMFA should have recommended a no vote during the road shows. Now we fast forward to present and you are saying that the members don't want a recommendation from AMFA especially if that recommendation isnt "vote no". Hard to hit a moving target especially when some people will find an excuse to complain.

Ok .. just a slight interruption from the peanut gallery... who is madman but more importantly why did he take so long to come to the dance
?

Hell I am a fa and I have been here and annoying people far longer
Hey, peanut. I have been involved a lot longer than everyone on this blog, more importantly I've been involved where it matters.

I remember during the vote on our last contract extension, the AMFA leaders, Louie Key, ALR's etc. who conducted the roadshow would not give a recommendation on the vote. That in my opinion is just good practice. Coonrod came to our station and recommended a yes vote. You guys need to present the bare naked facts and let the members decide. You exaggerate the facts in your post. There were plenty of no voters who did not complain. I was one among many.

I too was a no vote on the last contract vote. Most of the yes voters just saw the money not the verbiage. But you won't hear me complain about it. Once again there is nothing I can do about it now, what's done is done. The same will happen again if this integration is accepted. Once it's voted in or out there's nothing I can do to change that. Therefore, no complaining.

If MadMan is who someone suggested he is then he needs to focus on getting options gathered up and get back to the table, get rid of the fences/restrictions and a straight cut in the AT senority. In other words deliver what the membership at large wants, and not just what one nego wants. Or, just what one or two stations want.

And you guys seemed so close. It's really to bad. . Talked to a couple of phx mechs and they were still holding out hope that there would be a deal before arbitration

I have no problem with the Comte members recommending a vote yes or no. We still need to base our own vote on what's best for us(the mechanics). On this current TA there are only two Comte members out of them all that are recommending a yes vote! Not counting CoonRod! Those Comte members are the local 11 members, and CoonRod. So that tells me that most of our Comte members know what the membership wants. I know all the Comte members personally except for 1. On our last contract how could any member recommend a yes vote?? We gave away $30K a year in OT, and most importantly we gave away AMERICAN JOBS!!!!! And for what? A 4th line of heavy MX that we are not getting!!! And yet CoonRod was recommending a yes vote! That's just wrong!!! We need him out of AMFA regional Director II, make him go back to his box!! So when that Vote comes out everybody vote for Mike Nelson!! He is a good mechanic and great fit for that job!! He is local 18. Anyway I'm all for a recommended vote from our Comte members but atleast have them all on the same damn page. And atleast gain the knowledge and understanding to place your own vote for what's best for everybody involved!!!(union brothers, you, your family)
