Lets see I was on the Negotiating Committee for M&R, the Committee never agreed to anything with the company.

The Judge abrogated the CBA, the company gave the M&R Committee a final offer, which we were bound to take out for a vote to the membership, the membership ratified the final offer which allowed the company to outsource the work.

So please explain to me since the committee NEVER reached a T/A, how the Committee agreed to the outsourcing of the work?

Once again, Don't let the facts get in your way.
The Leadership took the cowardly way out and didn't do anything but protect what dues they could keep and have local lodge presidents move up to higher paying positions instead of doing the right thing and shut the doors on the airline!! The IAM knew the merger was going down but instead of taking a stand they sacrificied thousands of workers at the old U knowing they would make up the difference with the workers that would be coming from America West! The Leadership had their best interest in mind not the memberships just ask Frank Schifano! The IAM could care less about its members, all they care about are dues and they have shown that time and time again. Explain how they helped labor by allowing their members to scab at NWA!!

The truth will set you free..................................
First off, no fleet service agreement was ABROGATED. It was only a threat, after the 1113c was
filed the union leadership said, this is as good as it's going to get so vote for it, which the membership did.
The latest t/a was of bankrupt spunk and the smell could knock you down. That's why no one would sign on to it. The union leadership endorsed it but the workers failed to follow thier lead.
Now the hundred thousand dollar club and thier boss are fighting to keep control of the work force.
For those of you who bash the organizing drive of the ibew you are complacent and uneducated

There are a lot of bones in the union room between b9 and b11 at clt. That's where th utility
ot list was abrogated.

Folks I'm getting tired of this. One more time personal attacks/name calling are NOT permitted. We have FOLKS in the cornfield right now for this & there is room for more. If you can't be civil & stay on the topic please do us a favor & not post.

For one I know more about the Ramp in PHL than you can imagine. I keep a low profile at work and do my job have for many many many years.
The local president in PHL did a great thing when he stood up to Canale, but he went over the line when he brought the IBEW into it. Stand up for your rights first, then act like a baby. Because the IBEW movement today is just a bunch of crybabies who are looking for an easy way out FOR THEMSELVES. This is a war, and you are going about this in a manner similar to Hitler when he opened the second front on Russia in World War II!
If you walked into Dougie's office, he would tell you that he hopes the IBEW wins this thing. Because he knows that a new union on the property buys him 2-3 more years of the same work rules. That is where you are not being realistic with your lemmings. You think that you can snap your finger and undo 13 years of wrongs. No sir you cannot!

Is the IAM perfect? No, they suck, but rather than make the change necessary, you have allowed this to take place, and it has little to do with the TA, their failures go back much further, this is just your latest attempt to elevate yourself into a position of high pay. Get used to it, you are a Bag Ape, and you make 36K a year without OT! You are no better than the AGC's that party on the IAM dues, when you come on here and spout half-truths.

Regards,

Real Nice, You keep a low profile at work yet you stand in the shadows of this forum.

You second handly compliment the pres. of the local. First you tell him he did a ''great
thing'' and then compare him to ''Hitler'', Ram , you may not be jewish but I take
great offense to that reference.
This is talk about a union not comparable to a war. If you
do not see that, your lost. Also no one expects to snap our fingers and get rid of 13 years, but
we could try and prevent another 13 years from going by in the same manner.

Then you go on and agree that the IAM suck, but once again in your analogy you compare
our workforce to a ''Bag Ape'', once again offending anyone who would take exception to
that. Also the F/T employee who is making in the neighborhood of $11.00 an hr. is making
around $25,000 a year before OT !!

Edward, this is not name calling but a post disputing a previous analogy.

Thanks

M, you are doing nice work keeping the masses informed of what is going on, and making sure that you are honest with everyone. I like that. Others on this board are not so honest and are going to get some of their peers in a world of hurt when their promises do not come through.

There are options, the IBEW being one of them, just make sure that everyone is aware of what the reality it.

Oh really, Judge Mitchel's ruling says otherwise, from the January 6, 2005 Business Week:

One big wild card remains. US Airways and its 9,000 mechanics remain at loggerheads, and on Jan. 6 a bankruptcy court judge abrogated the labor group's existing contract and replaced it with a pact that will shave about $300 million a year from mechanics' pay and benefits. The International Association of Machinists said earlier that if the judge canceled the current agreement, the union will put the court's contract to a vote of its members
.

Samething happened to Fleet, I was there, were you?

Readers: If the IAM is allowed to stay it will be the beginning of the end
for US fleet service and probably all others except Southwest with it's
progressive buisiness plan and the TWU.

Any change that occurs involves losses. But inaction can also incur
losses. Ask yourself which is the greater loss; staying with the IAM or
moving on to the IBEW? All the information you need is right here.
Every poster has his/her own agenda, but its not really to hard to filter
out what's important. Some of these agenda's may be well informed but
very limited in scope. Those are easy to spot and even they can be
useful.

If you become convinced that this change is necessary as I have
then you can help if your willing to work. (I hate it as much as anybody)
Find the leaders in your station and get involved in the card drive. Or
if your one of the leaders keep up the good work. Also a note to you
lurkers..I know who you are...please we need your input and I know
you have something to add. Time to register and post.

If I thought this was a slam dunk then I wouldn't bother
with this. I'd just let it happen. But anything could happen. The
IAM may yet pull a rabbit out of the hat. Who know's. But until
it's accomplished I hope I don't get lazy.
Take care all (well OK mabey not ALL)

Do you realize the IBEW took massive concessions at Delphi, including letting the company terminate their pension.

Do you really think the IBEW faced with the same situation, like ALPA, AFA, CWA, IAM, AMFA, IBT, APA, TWU, PFAA, or any other union in the industry would do any better?

They also took concessions at Northrop Grumman and their local lodge officer not district, are all members of the $100K club.

Better do your research a bit more.

You want a union get one that understands. Go TWU or UTU. But what we will get is more chronyism, and a Union that is in over it's head in the airline industry.

Doesn't matter the International will not accept the cards nor forward them to the NMB to conduct an investigation.

Your urinating into the wind!
Edward,
Im tired of the these stabbing statements...."urinating" that calls for the cornfield PLEASE!!!!!!!Im new. I dont like seeing these immature statements. We are adults.
Thank You

EACH YEAR THE COST OF LIVING GOES UP 3% OR MORE SO IF YOU DON'T GET A RAISE FOR THAT YEAR YOU TAKE A PAY CUT OF 3% FOR THE NEXT YEAR AND IF YOU HAVE NOT HAD A RAISE IN LETS SAY 7 YEARS THAT IS A 21% CUT IN PAY!!!!!THE AGENT'S AT HP HAD JUST VOTED IN THE IBT AND WERE WORKING ON THERE FIRST CONTRACT AT THE TIME OF THE MERGER.
CWA/IBT agents get an .85-cent an hour rise TOS January 1 2008

When you get paid millions of dollars thats different. Id throw myself also. No comparison. It's about using language.
If an NBA player told a ref hes urinating in the wind on a certian "call"or "Foul" he would get fined just as if someone should be sent to the cornfields. End of story.

Goldenram,

I know who you are in PHL . You talk brave on here, but you hide at work and say nothing . Speak up at work!!!

With that whole urinating into the wind , you posted about 4 spaces down after he said that but you didn’t seem to have a problem THEN , why now ?

It sounds to me like your trying to stifle free speech , and that’s something I just can’t abide .
