THE TIME HAS COME!!!!!!!!!THE USAPA HAS FILED. LETS GO IBEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SEE EVEN THE PILOTS KNOW THAT THE TIME IS NOW FOR CHANGE. LETS SEE WHO CAN GET THE MOST SUPPORT THE USAPA OR THE IBEW!!!!!!

The above is a link with a brief description of the pilots needs. The reason I post
this is the common issue of ''the need for thier own representation'', not all pilots
but usairways pilots'. The new union should take over in early 2008.

The IBEW gives us the chance to achieve this. Our union, our voice

Here is the exact same thing I have been saying!I don't think this is the right time to change unions
This is precisely the right time. The decision to request a Representational Election to choose a new Collective Bargaining Agent (CBA) is never done (in any industry) when times are calm and quiet, without the challenges we are facing now. Conversely, the decision comes to all labor groups at precisely those times when they are facing their greatest challenges. There is in fact no greater challenge than to be facing professional negotiators and/or challenging situations, without adequate representation.

The argument that the pilot [fleet service] group should wait until "times are better" or until "less is going on" is an alluring one, until one considers recent history. If one considers how times have been at this carrier since the day they were hired, how often has it been calm and peaceful, that "perfect time?" Times are turbulent more than they are smooth in the airline industry; in fact, it is really an anomaly to find oneself in a time when there aren't significant challenges to the pilot group[fleet service]. Further, even were we to accidentally and briefly stumble across that "better time," to many it will no longer seem necessary to change. Then, along will come the next crisis, and we'll be in the same predicament in which we've found ourselves for two decades.

We need our workgroup to understand thier value to the IAM. We are the ''red headed step child''.
This past TA with the positive space for the company AGC and any other employees related to the travel need. The withdraw of the CIC and stopping the profit sharing, please, do you see what thier trying to do....sell us out. The profit sharing would be returned to the company and that total would not be placed into the existing pool for the rest of the groups. It would stay with the company. This ''positive space would have '' benifited who ? Do you really believe any other group would have had that in thier proposal ?...they tried and when they failed they blamed us for that also. Instead of understanding what thier group needed and wanted they pointed thier fingers and wagged them saying, ''what if oil goes up,you'll be sorry.''..............We must move on....


The pilots understand the need to have someone speak for them as a whole.. To speak for them....

The meeting in Phl is over.....J. Hayden did not get nominated and will not hold a position at the local
level in Phl...ATTENTION CANALE : he is now available for an AGC position. The nominations went
pretty well as predicted except for,

At the roll call there was no call for the pres. of the local and it was never addressed. Boland sat in
the membership chairs and did not participate in the meeting, in an official capacity, but when the nominations were asked for,only one name was spoken for pres. of the local...Bob Boland...Now
what can the IAM do ? They told him that he wasn't needed and the local said....wait...NO !! He is running unopposed.......

Ok...... Somebody is REALLY commited to the lie here.

In the PHX breakroom, there is a new update from our union rep stating, once again, that IBEW pres will NOT be accepting any of these cards, won't campaign, etc etc, and the number to his office is posted. Ron CHALLENGED us to give them a call and they will tell us personally that this is all bogus.


Nobody in PHX believes the IBEW has any steam. Nobody is talking, nobody from the IBEW has been heard or seen.

I call on somebody from the IBEW to clarify this once and for all. There is a LOT of mis-information flying around right now.

Ron is PO'ED and he put his personal phone number on the update so anybody can debate him on the issues. He's callin you all out.
 
PO'ED: Invite him on here to debate. I don't think anyone here would
object to his presence . Maybe he would be a breath of fresh air and
a new brand of honesty. If you think that's unfair him against all of us
well before he answers anything he can do all the consulting he want's.

At any rate if he's calling "us" all out and he doesn't want to debate us
here then have him get a new phone and post that number here and we
can call him one at a time when ever he wants to answer. That way
he won't mess up his personal line. He would have to give permission
to allow us to relay his words to this forum otherwise its meaningless.
I wouldn't want to be a part of someone just venting.

So either way we're waiting but what's he gonna say that hasn't allready
been said. And what misinformation is flying around here?

In any fight there are going to be losses. But IMO should the IBEW prevail the main
loss will be to the IAM itself. If the IAM prevails the whole of FS loses.
So keep collecting cards and give them to whoever in PHX is sending
them in.

I would love to have a friendly debate with Ron in PHX about the issues and I'm encouraged that Ron also agrees. If the IBEW pays the fines and moves forward, we should be able to get this done and plan on it in advance so hundreds of PHX rampers can have all the issues and answers from both sides.

Now back to the original problem. Getting the current group to work for you!

Congrats to all of the IBEW organizers who worked so hard for this work group. You have been noticed, and your dedication is appreciated. Now it is time to put away the sword and work with the current leadership group that we put in place and make sure that they work for us!
 
I wouldn’t hold your breath for an appearance of Ron on here . Somehow I get the feeling that he doesn’t do debates with nameless faceless individuals , I of course don’t mean that in a rude way to any of you, because I myself am in the same boat , but that’s just the way he is I think . He’s more of a face to face or over the phone type of person , at least so I gather .

exactly how and who did WE put in place , and getting them to listen to you is impossible. the last vote was a clear indication of that.. Instead of Canale saying

We hear you lets see what we can do. NO you get .. IT was a good deal and you should have taken it end of story..

Botom line is the IAM is here to stay, and you guys are only dividing an already divided work force more.

Any predictions on the next union to come on site?

I am not a quitter and I won't lay down thats weak,

that's a major problem with this union is they want there membership to remain suppressed and out of the loop.

Read ur post....Since when did WEEEEEE put the current leadership in place. Maybe you should clarify it to mean that at the local level only.

Stop with the copout answers. You tried something with the IBEW and lost. Now you are back to having to address the problem that you have run from.
