List's consistenly uses people's confirmation biases to whip them into visceral frenzies.

Mine comes from still being able to critically think and calling out his fallacies for what they are.

P.S. He also "consistently" avoids answering how much companies like DL pay him to put out what he does...

Critically think?

honestly?

Critical thinking skills would require that you acknowledge positives and negatives and make an unbiased decision.

You have NEVER demonstrated an ability to do that on the unionization subject on this board.

and anyone that thinks differently than you, in your view, has to be paid or insane or both. Your post above simply confirms that.

Critical thinking - not on your life.

your posts really speak for itself  youre the one who is insane or is being paid or both    you certainly don't have a life let alone critical thinking

I can and have seen both sides of issues; Kevin has NEVER acknowledged that the company can do anything good or that they are in the least interested in doing what is best for their employees.

His own statement about Pete's post confirmed that.

I only needed to point out the hypocrisy of his comment about Pete's lack of critical thinking while doing the very thing he decries.

Whelp, guess that confirms it.

You are  that thick.

I believe it was you who made the claim unions have done nothing good for the American worker..... That sure sounds like critical thinking to me

you couldn't be more wrong.

I have never said that unions have never done anything good for American workers.

and I personally don't mind if anyone has opinions, even strong ones.

Kev is a smart guy.

I would just like to see him and others be willing to acknowledge that DL does some things that are good for its employees and is not just out to get the best of its employees.

I'm quite sure, in contrast, that he would like to see more willingness for me to take a balanced approach to what I say - so I acknowledge that.

Dear Delta Flight Attendant,

Some time has passed since the National Mediation Board (NMB) dismissed the application for a Delta Flight Attendant representation election. In that time many things have occurred. IAM leaders have met with Delta Flight Attendant campaign leaders in small groups at bases around the country, held conference calls with Flight Attendant leaders from all bases and have fielded emails and phone calls from dedicated and concerned Flight Attendants from around the system. Out of those meetings, conversations and emails two things have become very clear: First, Delta Flight Attendants are showing their determined commitment to continuing their campaign to get to an election and win a voice at Delta through representation and, second, the IAM is unwavering in its support of Delta Flight Attendants in achieving that goal. To all the Delta Flight Attendant activists and supporters who worked so hard and continue to demonstrate your commitment to success, we humbly say “Thank You”!

Utilizing good Delta Flight Attendant input, the IAM has acted to devise a plan of action with a new design of election authorization cards that will provide the security of a validation process built into the cards. These new authorization cards (A-cards) will have a detachable stub and will have serial numbers that will be unique to each person who submits one. There will be a self-validating step for Flight Attendants to exercise at the time they submit a new card, and the IAM will perform validation measures as well. Additionally, an option will be available for Flight Attendants who wish to provide evidence of identification (like a driver’s license or other document with a signature) when they self-validate.

We are confident this new A-card design will go a long way in demonstrating to the NMB that the cards submitted are those of eligible Flight Attendants calling for a representation election. Along with this solution, the IAM will take other measures and hold discussions with decision makers, like the NMB, to pave the path for acceptance and validation of the A-cards we will turn in that again calls for the election Delta Flight Attendants so rightly deserve.

Delta Flight Attendant activists are preparing to launch this new A-card collection very soon. Ideas have been discussed and plans of action are being finalized. Delta Flight Attendant activists are more committed and determined to prove to everyone their unwavering goal of attaining and winning an election. The IAM stands with Delta Flight Attendants in their commitment and is in awe of your determination.

Watch for the new A-cards. Sign, date, return and self-validate yours as soon as possible. Together we will make history and truly make this delay a mere bump in the road towards a better Delta for Flight Attendants.

Click here to read, print and distribute the letter.

In solidarity,

GENERAL VICE PRESIDENT
Sito Pantoja

Congratulations to the IAM for improving the security of the A cards

Well done

Now they will know for super-duper-sure how much they are really not wanted at DAL.

Wonder how hard the IAM is pushing the Justice Dept to find and bring those accountable , for the card fiasco, to justice? My guess....not very, they might not like the results!

New A-Card Q & A
May 18, 2015

Q: When will I receive my new, individualized election authorization card (A-card) in the mail?
A: The new A-cards will be mailed today, Monday, May 18, 2015. You should receive your new A-card in the mail no later than May 23, 2015.

Q: What should I do if I don’t receive my new A-card?
A: If you do not receive your new A-card by Monday, May 25, 2015 it is likely that IAM Delta does not have your correct address. You will be able to visit www.iamdelta.net on May 26, 2015, and thereafter, to request that your new A-card be sent to you and update your address and other contact information.

Q: How are the new A-cards different than the cards we signed previously?
A: The new A-cards have a randomly generated sequence number that is unique to each Delta Flight Attendant with a detachable stub that also has the sequence number imprinted for your records. Only you and the IAM will ever know what your sequence number is. Based on the sequence number of your A-card, the IAM will be able to prove to the National Mediation Board (NMB), if necessary, the origin of your card. If any other non-sequenced card is received by the IAM in your name, the IAM will immediately contact you to verify.

Q: What is “self-verification,” and how can I “self-verify”?
A: Once you sign, date and mail your new A-card—postage paid—you will have the option to self-verify. All you need to do is send an email to [email protected] and state that you signed A-card # (insert sequence number). If you choose, you can also attach a photo of your A-card stub to the email and/or a photo of any type of other identification that you feel comfortable sharing. This will add another layer of information that will connect you with your new A-card when we again file for an election with the NMB.

Q: Will the new process make a difference?
A: Absolutely. Not only will the IAM be able to trace each A-card by its sequence number—remember, only you and the IAM will ever know your sequence number—but the self-verification step—if taken—will add another layer of information that will connect you to your A-card.

Q: What will happen with my information once I self-verify?
A: When the IAM receives your self-verification email, your email, and any attachments (photos of your stub and/or identification), will be printed out and attached to your A-card when it arrives at IAM Headquarters. Your A-card, verification email and any other attachments will be filed securely at IAM Headquarters and then submitted with your A-card to the NMB when we again file for our election.

Q: What if I don’t have access to a computer or just don’t know how to attach files and photos to an email to complete the self-verification procedure?
A: If you do not have the wherewithal to self-verify electronically, you can simply mail a signed statement that you signed A-card # (insert sequence number) and include a photocopy of your A-card stub and/or photocopies of any identification you choose to include to:
IAMAW Transportation Department
9000 Machinists Place RM 118B
Upper Marlboro, MD 20772

Q: Will the online “Auto A-card” system still be available?
A: Yes. We will use that system. When it’s activated we will communicate that to all Delta Flight Attendants. We will also provide a Q & A for the Auto A-card system.

Q: How many A-cards are needed to file for our election again?
A: At least 50 percent of all Delta Flight Attendants must sign a new A-card to file for election. The good news is, if every Delta Flight Attendant that previously signed an A-card signs a new A-card, and those Delta Flight Attendants we know would have voted yes for IAM representation signs an A-card now, Delta Flight Attendants will achieve the required 50 percent easily.

Q: Am I required to use the self-verify system to submit an A-card that contains my signature and today’s date?
A: No. However, the IAM may contact you to verify that you sent the card.

Q: I’m a new Delta Flight Attendant. What is an A-card?
A: An “A-card,” or “election authorization card,” is a card that you sign requesting to have the right to vote in a union representation election. It is NOT a vote for or against a union. It simply means that you are requesting the right to vote in a union representation election.
