Just read the highlights of the IAM contract. I didn't realize us air was in bankruptcy. Not even close to delta or united pay. This TWU IAM alliance has failed us already.

The TWU did a piss poor job of representing you before AA filed for bankruptcy protection;

The TWU did a piss poor job of representing you during AA's bankruptcy;   and

The TWU is doing a piss poor job of representing you now that AA has emerged from bankruptcy and has been acquired by US Airways.

Had enough?   Fire the bastards.

Now the TWU-IAM Association can go to work. I wonder who will be on the JCBA Committee

You seem to forget, the PMUS side hasnt ratified the TAs yet, nor has the Association vote taken place.

You are putting the cart before the horse.

If I'm reading it correctly, it is going to be a little more than a 6% cumulative increase come September '14. Sounds decent from someone who has no clue what the other airlines make comparably speaking, nor what the non obvious parts of the contract mean on a daily basis towards your work life. If nothing else, at least it moves you up the ladder pay wise before JCBA negotiates begin.

As if we'll get to vote on that!!

Who are you convincing on this alliance? Us here on this board or your fellow AMT's in the break rooms at work? So far no one I spoke too or communicated with is fond of any alliance that the IAM and TWU concocted except YOU.

Are you serious? Two loser unions negotiating for the same cause?
This isn't algebra where two negatives result in a positive when multiplied!

I'm just reading all the optimistic quotes in the news.

From IAM District 141 president Rich Delaney and District 142 president Tom Higginbotham in a joint statement:

“We thank the negotiating committees for their dedication and resolve during these difficult negotiations. These tentative agreements provide a solid starting point for joint collective bargaining with our Transport Workers Union (TWU) brothers and sisters.”

And from IAM general vice president Sito Pantoja:

“My sincere thanks to the IAM membership at US Airways. When these tentative contracts are ratified by IAM members at US Airways, the IAM-TWU Alliance will then begin the process of negotiating joint contacts that will cover over 30,000 alliance members at the ‘new’ American Airlines. These tentative agreements provide unprecedented job security provisions that will protect IAM members as the merger of US Airways and American Airlines proceeds. I’d also like to thank the NMB, and especially Chairwoman Linda Puchala, for their help in brining these negotiations to a successful conclusion.”

Are you that naive or just plain ole stupid?

The 11,000 IAM Members will be voting on the CBA, not DL 141 and 142 Presidents nor will the GVP be voting on it.

It will probably pass, but people arent overjoyed and are waiting for the full language.

Blah, Blah, Blah, Do you really think this is positive? I have worked for AA and have been part of this Totally Worthless Union for 25 years and heard these BS statements over and over again. Nothing has changed, (well there has now, instead of one worthless union we have two) and nothing ever will.

I don't want this alliance or any other negotiating with 30,000 members I just want Mechanic and Related.

It's really funny how these idiots call these negotiation a success ,what did they gain? Bringing the mechanics up to par with us? Wow hell of an achievement, bring them up to the worse contract in the industry.

But you keep believing in this union buddy!!

Because I sure don't.
