I just worked with a former "EAST" F/A - Many topics

Were they at least IMPRESSIVE space cadets? Did you feel supremely safe?

I was laughing so hard I really don't know how I felt. Oh, I think I overheard the A talking about how she wrote a letter to Tiger Beat magazine about her boyfriend troubles....I couldn't overhear the response...anyone have that issue?

Worked a West flight the other day and asked the A F/A to give something (ticket or bag tag) to the customer in row 5 for me so I could finish up in the jetway. "Oh, I cant go past FC." was the response. Huh? I knew you arent supposed to get off the plane into the jetway, but cant go the other way either?

Also is it FAR or company that predeparture items have to be collected BEFORE THE DOOR IS CLOSED on West metal? Not a lot of time to gulp it down.
Also, no overhead bins closed until boarding complete? Exit safety briefing done AFTER everyone onboard? Sometimes its seems like an eternity getting a West plane out on time.
And how exactly did they plan on adhering to all these rules and doing the predeparture on the A321 too?

Last I knew it was a FAA edict from the assigned HP FAA Cabin Inspector.

3 B's before you close the door. Bins, Bags and Beverages. One more B before the push, Butts (in the seats).

According to FAR's bag's stowed and bins closed prior to closing the door...nothing about all PAX being seated. They must be seated prior to push back.

I don't think we had NASA on staff at the old US. I'm glad we do now! I better shape it up. Don't want that 30 suspension I keep hearing so much about!

By COMPANY CABIN INSPECTOR, do you mean they work for HP or the FAA? Also it amazes me how many Overzealous FA's confuse company policies for FAR's.
If it's in your IOM and stamped ACCEPTED by the FAA then it has the same force as an FAR. Operating contrary to an IOM specified item will land you in the same hot water that violating an FAR will.

Is this your first rodeo, by any chance?

Perhaps, but I still still she looked pretty moronic on her knees crossing her arms in an X yelling at the gate agent. Yes, it was a 737.
Hey Mr. Mensa-
If you are trying to warn of a potentially lethal threat (a deployed slide)to someone through a lens that is aimed so that you can look through it from the seated position from inside, then doing whatever is necessary to communicate that threat (even getting on your knees so you can be seen, and yelling so you can be heard) seems okay.

Maybe you're right. Safety shmafety.

This is after you have disarmed? How is it a lethal threat?

That is why on the East side the 737 door is opened from the inside. So we know it won't be opened prior to disarming. On the aircraft that disarm when opened from the outside they are opened from the outside...see how that works?

Re-read my post carefully.
