The NMB, and with US/West planes coming in-house under the IAM/US CBA it will add jobs.

.........................................................

AS I SEE IT UNDER THE NEW CONTRACT WITH THE IBT AND AS THE TEAMSTERS HAVE TAKEN THE JOB SCOPE AND MADE IT EVEN STRONGER THAT THE IAM SCOPE WHAT IS THERE TO THINK ABOUT.
ITS A NO BRAINIER.
WEST PLANES STILL COMING IN-HOUSE AND UNDER IBT/US LCC CBA AND IT STILL ADDS JOBS.

You don't have a new contract yet and your scope is still open according to your own ibt 104 web page.

Keep Trying.

hehehe...your stronger job scope hasn't even been finalized by your side of the company .
you must realize several things my friend.....you now have a limited in house aircraft maintenance function that US Air and IAM have enjoyed for some 49 years...
you also now don't have hmv checks and 'q' checks in your superior scope clause that US Air has enjoyed all or in part for 49 years..
at this very moment,US Air has been enjoying its complete, ratified scope clause that has been agreed to and amended by the IAM membership to protect jobs and cut operating costs in light of economic factors that your union couldn't address before applying for ATSB bailout.
at this point in time, even though IAM/USAir membership agreed to limited outsourcing to save jobs and cut costs for the survivability of the airline, which also afforded you at AWA the chance to keep your jobs. You now have the opportunity to increase jobs and livelyhood when NMB grants single carrier status, and makes your side bring those aircraft that you have been vendoring out back into the fold so to speak.... ;)

we still have what you lost....

even though we agreed to outsource,we still have more inhouse heavy than you

we have a ratified scope clause now...not tomorrow that when IAM is ruled single carrier will provide work for many furloughees....under our excellent scope clause in place now,not next week. ;)

DELL The Teamsters Have NOT LOST ANY WORK AT AWA.
THE TEAMSTERS HAVE BROUGHT WORK BACK TO AWA AFTER WE VOTED THEM IN.

WITH THE NEW SCOPE IN THE CONTRACT I CAN SEE THE TEAMSTERS BRING BACK WORK THAT THE IAM LET GO AND PEOPLE ON LAYOFF BACK AS THEY DID AT AWA.

AS I SAID OUR CONTRACT IS IN NEGOTIATION NOW.
YOUR CONTRACT WITH THE IAM IS STUCK TILL 2009 AND THAT IS WHY THE COMPANY WANTS THAT WASH RAG OF A CONTRACT OF THE IAM TO HOLD US DOWN 3 MORE YEARS.

WE NEED TO GET IT NOW, NOT IN 3YEARS!!!

THE TEAMSTERS HAVE DONE AWA GOOD SO TAKE YOUR 49YRS OF IAM AND MOVE OVER ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE.

The teamsters don't have a proud history, far from it. The mob has been taken apart piece by piece along with the Teamsters part. No more will CORRADEO call the shots. Go drive a truck if you love the teamsters so much and say hello to GIOVANNI for me :p

And the union you would recommend would be....??? Please give your reasons for the recommendation.

The IAM because they have MUCH experience with airlines and not truckers and clubs.

It's a no brainer unless you have NO idea of union history.

I will admit that my knowledge of union history overall, is not very deep. And I guess that's why I asked.
But I am looking at what is going on right now and what has gone on in recently with the IAM and the IBT. There is something to be said for long term union history in aviation but in my opinion, there is also something to be said for new and fresh history........just my opinion and nothing else.

If you take the anger from the past out, the only logical choice would be to keep the IAM. Do the research yourself about the pension options. The iam plan is funded to the max of 130% and the teamster plan is under funded from 24% and much higher. I would rather have my 5% 401K match money put in a solid fund. We will get to vote to enter the iam plan, don't know about the under funded teamster plan. In January of 2007 heavy maintenance mechanics will once again get paid for both their A&P. Our pay will be $25.23 per hour. Of course I feel this is 10 to 15 dollars an hour less than what we should have, but 911 and corporate greed changed that. The bottom line is change will not be good. DP said we aren't getting nothing for free, so as sad as it is we will have to wait until the contract is up to gain. :(

HAY WAKE UP!!!!!!THE IAM HAS LET ITS MEMBERS DOWN WITH BACK DOOR DEALS, LET THE COMPANY AND A BK JUDGE TAKE A CONTRACT AND CUT IT INTO LITTLE PISCES WITH NO WAY TO RETURN IT BACK AFTER THE COMPANY GETS OUT OF BK AS IT IS NOW. OR DID THE IAM KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS NEW AIRLINE THAN YOU THINK????? <_<

Lets think about this... How long has AWA and US Airways been working on this deal 6mo? I will bet on 1 1/2 to 2 YEARS!!! Now think...When did the BK judge the company and YOUR fine IAM union come up with your NEW PAY CUTS AND SO ON.....I Think That a lot of members said that they voted yes and some kind of BS about a second and third VOTE OR TILL THE IAM GOT IT RIGHT....Think.... did the fine IAM KNOW what was in the future for the old US airways.. I bet on a back door deal to save union dues.

So as for your mob thing you might look in your own back yard.

I personally think that the "merger" talks have been going on for a long time.......maybe even back more than 2 years.

I just listened to BOTH option 1 (east) and option 2. Interesting stuff.

Then I went and read the letter the IAM sent to the NMB back in the middle of December, requesting they expedite the single carrier status declaration. Hmmmmm......it's nearing the end of January and no expedition.......even though the IAM sent a letter. Must be some issues that the NMB has. Wonder what those could be???

i like this guy.....
vote IBT or else....

not enough cards now or early next month when NMB rules IAM single!

The IAM leads by intimidation and threats and if that is not mob mentality what is. Don't believe me?. Ask some of your own members that have signed cards what is going on. With the Teamsters we have a shot at a future not waiting years to find out what the IAM has sold us down the river on. OPEN YOUE EYES - why else would Parker and Hemmingway be pushing IAM. Backdoor deals that you do not and I do not know about, that lower wages and benefits. The company is in bed with the IAM and want to continue the releationship. We intend to break it up.
