Flight Benefits On Us/hp Comparison

You all left out the best flight benefit that HP has!!! Older children still fly on your pass regardless of school status. They are called Non dependents and can go to a counter and purchase the tkt--a little less than a buddy pass--all by themselves if they've listed for the flight. l
They do not have to use one of your buddy passes. That's a waste of paper---hehehe and a lot less hastle.
Also, flexies can be used for an animal in cabin. I take my little mini dog along when visiting my ailing parents.
And an employee can upgrade to SA1p by using 3 flexi's. That puts them at the top of the list and if they're smart they'll check in at home no more than 4 hours prior to departure. We can do that on our employee web.
Also, don't forget the incentives. $5.00 for upgrading someone over the phone goes to the employee every pay day. Also contests all the time for top performer and such. Makes us happy to be here and even better when you're good.

Humm, let's see....the question was asked and it was answered. Where did your idiotic response come from? Oh, I should have known the purpose from your screen name. Typical AA crap.

Firstamendment,

Either start back up on the meds, or adjust your dosage, and THEN, post.

Why is allways "meds" with you? Firstamendment hit the nail right on the head. I for one hope this integration goes smoothly with benefits for all employees.

It's the language she uses when on the attack that leads me to believe that either...

A. She is off her meds, or

B. She needs to have her dosage adjusted.

I can't help it if that goes for other people on this board, as well. :D

I would hope they would take the best of BOTH airlines when they decide policies and procedures for the new carrier.

Sky high states: I was also wondering who's policies and procedures the combined carrier would adopt. Since U is bigger, COST may be a factor in many of those decisions.

I for one think the AWA benefits are GREAT! Our's our good too. 40 passes ayear for no sick calls!!! Wow, they wont be handing many of those out to the U employees. Everyone knows they love to call in sick. Maybe that should be one to keep. There are alot of us who never call in sick. We only get 8 buddy passes ayear and they are 90% off the HIGHEST fair. So, a space positive ticket would be about $250 rt to the west coast and a buddy pass space available would be around $240 , I would rather buy a ticket. Our buddy passes suck. I say we get rid of U pass systme entirely!!! I love AWA's systm.

OSnut you forgot the most important thing.

Vegas rules

Yes, all rules are regularly thrown out in Vegas and are administered randomly! :p

Also, employees travelling for business are given Postive Space seats and are upgraded to FC if there is a seat available.

I had to meet with emps from several airlines once and was amazed that the AA employees had to non rev as standbys to get to the meeting.

Also, our pass bureau rocks, the people in that office are the nicest, most compentent folks around, they are the unsung heros of HP.

For non-revving, I think I prefer US's system. Employees, children, and parents, all fly free. As many times a year as you want to fly. All you have to do is show up at the gate after you have listed yourself and get on the plane if a seat is available. The one with the highest seniority date gets on the plane first. if someone using one of your companion passes is travelling with you, they board with you, using your seniority date. If you are not accompanying them, they go to the bottom of the list. This is the only part of US's flight benefits that I would choose to carry over to the new company. The incentives that HP has sounds great. If US would have ever had incentives anywhere close to those of HP, it would have been a step in the right direction of showing our employees how important we are. But it never happened. I believe that HP will keep the best of both worlds. Which would be an excellent way to start a marriage, from an employees point of view. :D

If you don't call in sick once in a while, who has the time to even USE 40 passes a year? That's 3+ trips a month, or almost twice a month for a married couple. At USAirways we're working so many days a month that using all those passes would be virtually impossible.

I'll take my sanity breaks, thank you, and settle for 10 passes a year.

This is an honest question, so please do not "nail me to the cross."

How does HP monitor possible abuse of the check in time? What would prevent a ticket agent/ramp agent calling from home and asking a fellow agent to show them checked-in at the 4 hour time limit?

If this occurs, it puts those employees who do not have such connections at a
distinct disadvantage.

Thanks, in advance, for any thoughtful replies.

You can keep your 10 passes a year. I use my BUDDYPASSES ALOT!

40 is not even enough for me. My parents use them in exchange for FREE non-rev travel. My friends, neighbors and relatives use them alot too and I use them to upgrade to higher standby status and first class upgrades. HP generates revenue from the buddypasses and its good for the company. I hope we keep them.

If you dont have a "Buddy pass" to exchange....

How much are parents? Are they per year, per flight, per segment?
(US parents are free for as many flights per year as they want- pay taxes on INTL only)
How much are upgrades without the pass to exchange?
(US $20 US/North America/Caribbean, $100 Transatlantic per segment)

US also no charge for carryon pet.

Be careful with the buddy passes. If your guest (or whoever has obtained a buddy pass) gets lippy or pulls some crap, you could lose ALL flight benefits. I gave a pass to a friend who gave it to another "friend" without my knowledge. He threw a fit at the counter and I received a warning notice.

Yes, checking in by seniority will be a wonderful thing for AWA employees. We can just stand and watch the old US employees get on the plane. I see how it is, now. Going from almost out of a job to walking all over the new merger partners. Wonderful.
