F/A Recalls

If they could count on RSV's being in base not calling out on x-mas last day on call etc. maby they could get the staffing in-tac...my take on the recall is after the no show factor over x-mas they (mgmt) feel they can't count on the current RSV's to be AVL when needed, so they are adding staff to back fill...remember a reserve is something that sits on a shelf untill needed...if EMBFA & FLIGHTCHIC would make themself AVL for a QCK call they might get there time in and get a life...sorry but I don't feel for a jr. F/A that has time to whine on this board and sit in a crash pad all day when they could work if they REALLY wanted to...when I was jr. and yes I did commute I would go on QCK and would get a trip 8 out 10 times...but back in the day we did not have the whiney board to fill time...

You are an idiot. In CLT, only 8% of the rsv's had N/A next to their names and that is out of 425 rsv's. It's a shame we couldn't check that BH's stats. My guess is, it would be higher. How about 2 years ago, when Christmas was on the weekend. No BH could drop their island 1 days, so they sicked out on them. No rsv could have even picked them up of of the ETB, due to the fact they checked in prior to 1000. Luckily for us rsv's, they changed that rule to ALLOW us to pick up your trash up until 0945. And the quick call comment, stupid also. If you do quick call once, you have to end up doing it all month long, or you get your LTO so high, you end up sitting for weeks. I've done it. You really need to be educated more on some of these issues. Your knowledge here is lacking. I wish I was your extra sometime, so I could clue you in.

If some stupid company is giving me the option to:

a- not work for them and get paid 73 hours
b- work for them for 40-50 hours, rushing around to be there in an 1.5 with no choice about the trip, and still get paid 73 hours

... I'll go with B. I'm not a pretzel fetishist and I'm not desperate for the $50 in per diem.

The RSV system now isn't the way it used to be you old buzzard---it's a totally different ball game...plus in the other thread, you said that you're a pilot....come now, which is it ????? You lie like bad road kill.
 
Some good attitudes in here despite the fact that your peers are being laid off, and they are rehiring others. My hats off to you ladies.

Is this more of a union thing in terms of who gets rehired first? Senority first?
 
I'm in PHL and I got 35 hours for Nov. and 54 hours for December. I did break guarantee once this summer (notice I didn't say anything about timing out, just making it past the 73 mark), but most f/as tell me they haven't broken guarantee in 2 or 3 years. I normally fly around 40-50 hours a month. I guess it will only get worse. Welcome to the "new" US Airways!
It is a part time job --- one can not expect to get full time hours. Think of it like working at Mc Donalds.
 
And does a McDonald's worker have to sit around and wait to be called at any given moment 24 hours a day? Noooooot really a fair comparison now is it? ;)
 
Oh boy...noon tomorrow is the deadline for the recall forms. I just wonder how many will pass this time. Has anyone heard about the numbers that inflight has received so far?

How does it work? Do they go through the list and back again if everyone passes? Or, do they start at the bottom and start forcing people to take the recall if they don't get enough? :unsure:
