Egypt Looking for Change?

I don't know what separates a war from an insurgency or a uprising but according to this it does seem that Egypt did incredibly well with only 300 deaths.

Conflicts and death tolls.

Granted this was the easy part now they have to get a new government. Hopefully it will go as smoothly as getting the old one out.
I just read that Algeria had some protests the other day. I wonder if they are next in line for a change.

Yes that is always apparent..."I dont know"...but that never stops you from making uneducated statement. Foot in mouth disease strikes again.

Even if the numbers are double or triple the stated amount that is still 'not bad' in comparison to what other nations have gone through when fighting a civil war. No loss of life is ever a good thing how ever this is a far better out come than most other nations experience when trying to change a government via an uprising.
It wasn't a civil war. But please don't let the obvious facts get in the way.

I know you were wanting this to turn into a disaster but it looks like you did not get your wish.

Nope. Im just being pragmatic. I know you lefties are trying to frame this event with a warm and cozy "Spielberg" ending with unicorns and doves released to the masses. Its not happening.

Try to lay off the Maddow narrative and you may learn something.

Its also arse-plodding hypocritical that Left points to Mubarak with such outrage while they forget about Castro. Go figure.

Foreign policy for dummies:

1: Is what's happening in *** country good for their citizens?
2: Is what's happening in *** country good for US security?
3: Is what's happening in *** country good for the security of US allies?

If any are answered no then there should be an obvious concern. Its not that hard.

Top of the list to replace Mubarak -- candidate who is anti US, Israel...

At the top of the list may be Amr Moussa. State TV reported Friday that the former Egyptian foreign minister would be stepping down as Secretary General of the Arab League, where he has served for nearly a decade, renewing speculation over a presidential bid. The long-time diplomat has a large popular following in Egypt because of his habit of publicly criticizing policies of the U.S. and Israel, in marked contrast to Mubarak's quiescence

Liberal thinking:

USA: Demonstrations against a tyrant (Obama) by the people standing up for what they believe in = RACISM!

EGYPT: Demonstrations against a tyrant (Mubarak) by the people standing up for what they believe in = WONDERFUL!

Lowkey on the Egyptian Revolution

I have so much belief in the Egyptian people, if there is democracy...there wouldn't be an American, or Israeli government left standing in the Middle East...
The path to the liberation of Jerusalem runs though Cairo...

Soory, I don't watch Maddow. Reading your posts it's obvious what your problem is. You see something on the net and don't bother to figure out if it's actually true.

I actually do. I look at what both sides are saying. Its called independent judgment. You should try it on for once rather then being spoon fed by the MSM.

Where do you get your fuzzy warm stories about actual events then? Please share with the rest of the class.

And it's rather obvious that you are incapable of independent judgement.

Please tell me what warm and fuzzy stories are you talking about? Reading your posts one gets the impression the world is coming to an end. You also seem to make stuff up as you go along. Comparing Egypt to Iran or trying to make 300 dead in a country of 80 million sound like a bloodbath. When you look at what's going on in the rest of Africa it's rather small.

Ever hear about the kind of things that appear in the Egyptian press about Israel. Some very nasty stuff, including the age old "blood libel" slander. Do you think that sort of stuff could appear if Mubarak did not want it to?

People trully show their ignorance when they call a US president a tyrant. Whether that president be Clinton, Bush or Obama. No one in this country has any idea what it's like to like under a real tyrant. Unless of course they lived in a country run by one and came here to escape.

The very fact that you can call the president a tyrant and not have to worry about the secret police showing up at your house proves the opposite.
