With comments about possible strikes on the boards now, I was wondering if anybody thought the flight attendants might have a "sick-out" on Sunday, November 28th?... I think that is a pretty busy travel day?

What do you think?

Oh yes they will and who will be there to clean up the mess?

I think that all airline employees should do some thing larg if we don't do something very quick our way of lives which have already change will change even more .....Corporations are taking advantage of this goverment in place and just stomping on our throats.......a sick out on thanksgiving and christmass would be a good start.

Remember AA F/A's strike on thanksgiving that forced the president to get involved...................and their working enviorment got better ever since
as of now a international F/A at american is making over 55,000 year.

There is usually a sickout every Thanksgiving-Christmas holiday. Nothing new, but probably will be a bit more this year then last.

Tank up the car kiddies it's gonna be a long drive. I'd rather drive 800 miles than be stuck in an airport - flight cancelled- with screaming kids. This is why Jack Daniels makes a great gift for your flying friends and family. ;)

Why limit to to just the 28th....how about the 24th thru the 28th....and not just the F/A's....everyone!

That should be a GO for all groups. This place will reap what it sows!

Evidently, you missed the news about the concessions the f/as gave AMR last year. Top of scale is now less than $50/hr. On a basic 75 hour month that would be $45000/yr. Now if you count the expense money (which in some cases is taxable), and purser pay, and speaker pay, you might be able to goose it up to $55,000, but that ain't da usual.

Working environment got better??? You mean like the Miami-Sao Paulo trip that used to be 36-hour layovers in Sao Paulo, and is now a 12-hour layover? Arrive at 7am, depart for Miami at 7pm same day? Oh, that "better working environment." I wasn't sure which one you were talking about at first.

I think we need a substanital, industrywide wild card strike. Government intervention is needed NOW. We need regulation again, or the situation will grow worse. We have two loser Presidential candidates - Bush who loves executives and the rich and Kerry who hates the airlines (I WILL NEVER, EVER, EVER vote for a a PIECE OF SH1T like him that publicly stated he wanted to see US Airways fail. Any of you that think he's a good candidate need to pull your head out of the John.)

The government is letting the airlines massacre employees, leaving their carcasses rotting the streets of destition. Millions of us are still unemployed and underemployed. While execs are still making enormous, perk-laden salaries. We need IMMEDIATE rehire of all laid off employees at their prior level of pay and seniority. We DEMAND that the airlines cease cutting service to small cities. We INSIST that the dangerous and deadly practice of hiring out maintenance to vendors BE STOPPED immediately. The TIME HAS COME for unions to stop coddling the executives and representing their workers. THEY MUST MAKE IT CLEAR THAT WE WILL NOT WORK FOR LESS, WE WILL NOT BE LAID OFF AND TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN THE COLLAPSE OF AMERICA'S AVIATION INFRASTRUCTURE!!!!!!

Its all relative. When that trip was a 36 hour layover the average seniority to hold it was about 18 years. Now its a 12 hour layover and the most junior non speaker is over 30 years. All and all, worse for some is better for others.

Hadn't thought of it that way, Mike. I know that there are some senior f/as at DFW who would be perfectly happy if the entire bid sheet was nothing but turns.

A sick out. What a novel idea. That'll really show them.

It'll also show your customers, the ones who have stood by you and booked tickets while believing in you, that you really don't care. So, your sick out could end up being a permanent leave.

Please do us all a favor and just quit if this is your attitude. Don't ruin it for the other 20+ thousand employees who also depend on a paycheck, no matter how small, to survive.

Yes, the working conditions 5uck. That's been debated through and through. And, for your information, the government already does regulate your rights as an employee and an employers rights. What, specifically, are you asking them to do for YOU that wouldn't trickle down to the rest of America's workforce? It sounds like what you're really asking for is an overhaul of all work rules for all companies. Because - why should the government treat an airline worker any different than someone who has an office job, or another person who cleans toilets and mops floors?

Couldn't have said it better myself! We know what we are facing and most are willing to stay.
